I applied for transit Visa hoping to travel to Boston to meet family once the border opens up my question is how long will it take to process the document it has already been one week since I applied for a transit Visa being in Canada? Thank you

Where are you travelling from ? Any reason why you need to transit Canada as opposed to fly to the US directly ? Any visa application is taking a lot longer due to COVID and not sure there is even an estmated time for a transit visa at present. Assume you applied online.

All processing is delayed at this time due to COVID-19. Processing could take only a few weeks or could take a few months. It depends on a number of things including your profile (e.g. country of origin, ties to home country, etc.). As said before, COVID-19 has also impacted the processing of all applications so hard to say how long you will be waiting.

If at all possible, consider re-booking and selecting a flight that either flies directly to Boston or transits somewhere in the U.S. so that you can avoid the transit visa process and because there are so many impacts to travel right now due to COVID-19 which may make it more challenging to transit through countries once the travel ban is lifted.
