Applied for Study Permit but was issued WP! Help!!!!

Hi, I applied for the Study Permit from within Canada recently (my husband is a student here in Canada as well, so I was allowed to). I did my medicals upfront and after few weeks I got a message that my application was approved. BUT the letter in my CIC account says the following.

"Your application to remain in Canada as a temporary resident has been approved. A secure document has
been mailed to you at the address that you provided when you made your application."

And then it says "WP-EXT / Permis - PT-PROR" and the document number which starts with the letter U!!! and not F!. I am wondering what the f...does this all mean? I never applied for the work permit.

There is also my Application No indicated in the top corner on this letter which start with the letter S....and then numbers, which means study... but why does it say WP-EXT below?? Should I wait for the actual permit to arrive and see what's inside or should I call CIC? Or is it possible that CIC just made a mistake in the approval letter but I will receive the actual Study Permit?

The most interesting thing is that the validity of the permit indicated on this letter is the same as the validity of my school program..

hey any update? i will recommend you wait to see the copy they sent in the mail. if anything contact cic after that.

Hi! Any update with this? Same thing happened to me.
I applied for an extension of my study permit but then I recieved a work permit with my school as employer.
What do I have todo now? Should I wait from the mail the actual study permit?
 
Any one received actual study permit mail because same thing happened with me.I am just confused that I applied sp exp. but get wp exp. How is it possible plz reply me as soon as possible that was your study permit ma

Hey Raj1995,
I applied for an extension of my study permit within Canada and was approved.
A work permit came through the mail first. I didn’t do anything. Then about a week later, I received the actual study permit.
