Hello,
I have been accepted as a PhD Student and have applied for a Study Permit. However, during the application process, I was not asked to send my Letter of Acceptance. Still, I was requested to fill out the IMM1294E form, which I did.
I assume I was not requested to send my Letter of Acceptance because I have answered “yes” to the question “Are you a spouse, common-law partner or child of certain skilled worker or of certain full time international student that has or will have status in Canada?” in the eligibility test. I answered “yes” to that question because my husband has also been accepted to a Graduate Program in Canada and is also applying for a Study Permit. Thus, I assumed I am the spouse of a person that will have status in Canada. My husband is also applying for a Study Permit, because, as I mentioned above, he has been accepted to a Graduate Program in Canada. In his Application, he also answered “yes” to that question and his Letter of Acceptance was not requested either. We applied separately.
I did send my Letter of Acceptance through the “Proof of means of financial support” (in the letter it is stated that my Tuition is fully covered and that I will receive a stipend for 4 years). I have also send the Letter of Acceptance in the “Letter of Explanation”. So did my husband.
I would like to clarify if I answered the question correctly. If not, I would like to know what can I do to avoid misunderstandings. I feel like I answered the question honestly, because I AM the spouse of a future international student, but I am also an international student MYSELF. I am afraid I might be charged with misrepresentation because they expected a different answer. I am even considering withdrawing this application and starting a new one.
Does anyone have some advice? Thank you!
