Applied for spouse

Hi there,

If you apply PR for your spouse when you are inland and your spouse is outland and you get the PR for spouse. There is a certain time given for the spouse for the border crossing or lets say enter in Canada to become a PR. Lets say if spouse is busy and in the middle of graduation and can come for 2-3 weeks to become PR but cannot stay longer in Canada. Is it possible for spouse to go back again for an year and complete graduation then come back again?

Why not? I think it is possible, ones she get PR she can go home for as long as needed, but remember that PR is given for 5 years and in order to extend PR she has to be in Canada for at least 2 years , 2 years are not required to be consistent she can stay at home country for 6 months and come to Canada for 6 months, and do like that every year, or she can stay at home for 3 years but then she must stay in Canada for full 2 years

Why not? I think it is possible, ones she get PR she can go home for as long as needed, but remember that PR is given for 5 years and in order to extend PR she has to be in Canada for at least 2 years , 2 years are not required to be consistent she can stay at home country for 6 months and come to Canada for 6 months, and do like that every year, or she can stay at home for 3 years but then she must stay in Canada for full 2 years

Permanent resident status
If your application is successful, you and your family members will receive status as permanent residents of Canada. Some conditions will apply:

• You will remain a permanent resident until you become a Canadian citizen, as long as you spend at least two (2) years of each five (5) year period in Canada. Otherwise you will lose your status.
• You may leave and re-enter Canada as often as you wish.
