Hi everyone, newbie here from the Philippines. I applied as skilled worker in 2005. Realized that my job and my qualifications are really under the self-employed category. Received 4 letters from Canadian Emb regarding my application, but they're all about processing time, and updating status. Last letter received was last 2008, regarding whether I was still interested to continue my application. And of course, I replied that I was interested.
It's been almost 5 years since my application (which said it would take 42 to 46 months of processing time, and its definitely way over). Was wondering
a. if I should've applied under the self-employed category?
b. can I apply under the self-employed category, or should I wait it out? (of course I already paid processing fees for myself and my family and I am aware that if I apply again, I may have to pay again)
c. I know I don't fall under the preferred occupation list (the magic 37? 38? that Ive been reading about) but would you know if Canada is open to people working in the entertainment and television production industry?
thanks!!! Your thoughts will be very helpful and welcome.
