You had a visa for Canada as this persons common law partner even though you were not common law? That complicates things. If immigration thinks that you had a common law and now you write that you never did, they will want to know if you lied before.

Leon it's not for Canada, it's for here in South Africa and it's called life partner. I was just wondering if it was what they were trying say on the form. But now I think it's doesn't mean the same as common law. I hope you understand me now?

What were the criteria to get a visa as a life partner? Did you have to say that you live together as a couple? If yes, it is the same thing but as long as it wasn't Canada immigration, you might get away with it because they will not know.

It didn't say we must live together. It says she was my girlfriend and nothing more.

Do you need to get a new medical? I am getting impatient, my ecas still say application received on 20 October 2011. My file has been transferred since January 4, so I expect some work to have started on in at least. I went to Pretoria yesterday to submit my police clearances and the medical green form. By the way I am a Nigerian, but I have been living here in SA for five year. One of my good friends is a Mozambican his name is Ivan Pinto Paolo. Please stick around, I'll definitely need your support on this forum.

Maybe they have started working on your file and they haven't update on ecas yet. Wait a couple of weeks to see.
I'm doing some random checks only, nothing to do with immigration. Don't worry I'll stick around.

Any new applicant from Pretoria? It's really quiet here.

Hey Josephs!
My wife was more than happy to see me :)
My landing went smooth(besides my luggage not arriving with me)
The customs officer was really nice to me,and all the process took no more than 15mins. Pretty smooth actually, better than I expected.
Applied for my SIN today, went smooth also.

what about you?any news from the embassy yet?

I'm glad everything worked out better than you had imagined :). For me no new yet from the embassy :(. Do you have an idea of how long it will take for my medical to reach Pretoria from London? Do they have to receive the medicals before they start processing? What was your experience regarding that?

Don't forget me in your prayers, I need this visa before the end of June.

Have a wonderful time with your wife ;)
