Hi again! I have been a resident of the UAE for 4 years now, which makes me eligible to apply for immigration to Canada through here. I have found out that applications from here are directed to the CIC London office. I would like to know how long it takes for the London office to process applications. ( My profession is among the 38 listed).

Is there anyone here who are in the same position as me?

if your profession is among the 38, and you have at least 67 points, the promise is that under the new processing system your application should be processed in between 6 and 12 months. however, as the law just came out, no one knows how long it's actually going to take.

Is it advisable for me to make arrangements to take the canadian licensure exam on a visit visa while waiting for the approval of my PR?

Can I enter canada with a visit visa? If so, will this affect my current application for a PR?

Thanks so much

You can visit while waiting for PR, it will not affect your application. Go to http://www.workdestinations.org/home.jsp?lang=en to find licensing info in different provinces. You may be able to find out from them if you can line up a test for your visit.
