Thanks.

I think it was same for everyone. It's a standard line that they use for everyone.

Congrtas Jasonbourne n Kolhapuri.

@ Jasonbourne...what was the processing time mentioned in your 2 AOR?

from the timeline of applicants whose DD or CC is encashed it is obvious that encashment takes 40 to 45 from the day ur application is received. so it wud b logical to watch out for the CAP status after 45 days ur application is received. if the NOC is still not filled by that time there is a very good chance that u will make the cut.

Hi m8,

Yes back in the UK now since last Saturday. I have booked one-way flight to Vancouver on 11th October. Still waiting to hear the result of the job interview I had 2 weeks ago, so depending on that verdict I will try to arrange some interviews for when I go over there.

My wife will hopefully follow a month or two later but we have to try to sort the sale of our house out.

Wayne.

Hi Wayne:

What were your thoughts on living in Vancouver and Abbotsford in general? Any observations you can share with us would be appreciated... Also, how did you manage to arrange the job interviews so fast?

Hope you get a positive response soon...and thanks for any feedback you may provide.

Hi - I arranged 2 interviews prior to going over, but in the end I decided only to attend one of them. The other was in downtown Vancouver which would have involved 3 hours commuting per day, and also would have involved another trip to Canada to attend a second interview this week or next.

That interview was arrange by simply seeing a job advertised on monster.ca and applying to the agent - and the agent arranged a telephone interview for me and then a face to face interview.

The interview I did attend was arranged because Queencougar's husband works for the same place and heard they were recruiting developers, so gave me the email of their development director and from there I got a telephone interview and a face to face interview. Hoping to hear by the end of this week.

I think it largely depends on which line of work you are in - but for IT there seem to be quite a lot of jobs and many are handled by agents who will arrange the interviews for you.

We actually live on the edge of Abbotsford (it's nearer to Aldergrove than Abbotsford). It's very quiet and secluded there, although there isn't really much in the way of public transport so you basically need a car! To get to central Vancouver it's about 40 minutes drive to Surrey and then a 45 minute Skytrain into the centre. Hence why a commute to downtown Vancouver is about 3 hours per day! But to live nearer the centre means more expensive rent, so I am trying to find work out in the suburbs like Abbotsford, Langley, maybe Surrey.

Wayne.

Hi Pradeep,
Thank you. I live in Ireland and you will not believe but we did not even get summer this season. The temperature during summer has been 12 to 15 C. Ireland is on same lattitude as central canada but it doent get that cold here due to the warm gulf stream current in the Atlantic Ocean. We are used to the cold now and I personally prefer a tad colder than a tad warm.
Cheers
