DEAR BALOO,
CAN U EXPLIAN WHAT IS SIGNED FOR SERVICE??
I HAVE JUST SENT LON VO A SELF ADDRESSED A4 SIZE .
WILL THEY BE SENDING THE PP'S VIA COURIER OR REGISTERED POST?

Yes Please, Capital letters on forum means shouting. I am sure you dont want to shout here.

"Signed For" service means the person who the letter has been addressed to has to sign to get the letter.

CAIPS.
For the benefit of those who are waiting a long time to hear anything and are already in Canada or know someone who is, here is the site for ordering CAIPS and the telephone contact number.

The official CIC site is here;

<<<I am not allowed to post links.>>>>

It has the forms and the address to send them to.
The contact number is ;

Client Service Unit at 613-946-0953 or 1-800-667-6703 "

If you just internet search for CAIPS, you only get private companies who charge a lot to order these notes for you - $40 and upwards. (This is because on the official site they don't call them CAIPS very clearly, they call them 'access to private information' or something like that.
If you order them through the official site, they are only $5.

Hope this helps if you are thinking about finding out about the progress of you application. Some Buffalo applicants be especially interested!

Guys,

What is CAIPS? There are a lot of acronyms used is this forum. Any new member needs huge time to understand these.

Thanks,
satya.

Providing that contact number means that I can call on the number and check the status of my application? (sorry if I am asking silly questions. I am new to the system. Please forgive.)

satya.

still i can ask for that?
your advice

Hi doctorahmed,

Queencougar's information on CAIPS is for people who are either residing in Canada or have a friend/relative who can order CAIPS for them. I am just adding some more information to QC.

People who are not in Canada or don't have friends/relative in Canada have to apply for CAIPS through other agencies who can order it for you. Different companies have different rates ranging from $25-45CAD. You have the option to receive CAIPS either by mail or by Email. Please check the links below which I had post just sometime back.

The following are some web links to request CAIPS:

www.caipsnotes.com
http://www.lawpoint.ca/index.php/Online-CAIPS/GCMS-request.html
www.caips.ca/
http://immigrationguides.com/content/view/207/110/

Hope this helps.

Mitali

NB: CAIPS is short for 'Computer Assisted Immigration Processing System'. It is the computer system historically used by Citizenship & Immigration Canada to process visa applications, and holds all the information on the current status of every immigration application being processed by overseas offices (i.e. those outside of Canada), other than new applications at offices which have switched to using the 'GCMS' system.

Hi satya,

Status of which application, PR or CAIPS notes? That number is only for CAIPS requests. As Baloo said, you could try but rest assured you would get a standard reply that they will take atleast 30day to process CAIPS and send it as soon as it is ready.

Because I believe there are system wide updates happening, probably to do with the transfer from CAIPS to GCMS.

Please look at this logically, why would they be looking at everyone's file all at once?

Wayne.

u were right....

Congrats Montu,

they started processing ur application in jan itself .....IELTS request from NDVO Proves that......unfortunately the delay in ur case is due to submission of wrong IELTS mark sheet (academic)

There are so many members here whos status is in RBVO since more than 5 months.

Be positive. Inshallah u will receive some good news.

I've tried the 'come to Canada' tool again and it now says I'm eligible after initially saying I wasn't. This of course was mainly due to the fact that 3131 was not included in the list initially. I'm glad to see that even if they decide to change the points system, I still qualify.

Now, for my PPR to fly in on swift wings and bring a merry smile to my face....and if you are wondering; Yes, I am going out of my mind! ;D

@ Montu, thanks mate. I hope to get it today or tomorrow too.

:P :P :P
Maybe they read what we were all saying and had another look at it! ;D ;D
I think I will give it another try and see if they have put right the Cat 2 thing right now.

Hope your PR gets to you very soon, Wendy. ;)

The only confirmation I received was following the tracking number provided by "special delivery" option @ post office. You will not receive confirmation from VO. You will just get PP sent back to you via special delivery/signed for.
