Background check in visa office is after they check our score? My visa office answered my email that i am under review due to continued background check.....it means I am in process now or after checking background I will be in process....

Generally the VO does a point calculation again once the application gets to them. After they find that the minimum points are met, they begin to check the other things like background and employment verification. If the VO have mentioned background checks then you are probably through the VO eligibility phase. Again, different VOs seem to work in different ways so there is no hard and fast rule to anything; none that we know of at least.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

Just an update. We have so far managed to settle our insurance, obtained our SIN, and opened a bank account with ScotiaBank. Also just received my G1 driving licence (which really is not of much use) this morning, and due to the Letter for Authentication on my past driving experience managed to get a waiver of the wait time and will go for my G licence mid-next month. Will be linking up with a realtor later this week to look for a more permanent accommodation, and thereafter my son’s school. Quite busy, but really enjoying our time here.

Hope to see you all real soon.

Cheers.

Hi All. Am really impressed with the assistance without pay being offered by Mitali, Wayne, Mayank and a host of others. Keep up the good work. Am actually a newbie on this forum and I need your help with a question with regards to work experience.
1st work experience: December 2007 to December 2008 (1 year)
2nd work experience: December 2008 to March 2009 (3 months)
3rd work experience: March 2009 to August 2009 (5 months)
Total:1 year and 8 months

I have been out of my country for the past two years and I intend to go back and work for another 4 to 5 months
Now my question is: Will it be accepted by CIC that I have 2 years but less than 3 years of work experience after this additional work experience of 5 months or must it be two years of continuous work for it to be accepted as 2 years but less than 3 years of work experience?
Thanks

I think the Ecas status is changed by respective Visa Offices.

Does any one saw the change in Ecas status after their VO working hours?

The reason why many people are not eligible with the new tool is the IELTS.

If you apply in a profession that requires a university degree, you are expected to have a high proficiency in all categories of the IELTS while crane operators etc do not.

This is part of the review done earlier in the year to judge different professions by different standards in order to attract more people from the lower/ non academic categories.

This might also explain why there is a very low number of applicants in these categories. It may be that there are more crane operators wanting to emmigrate, but very few who can attain 67 points because your average crane operator probably does not have a University education. Language may also be a factor but I suspect education level to be the biggest factor.

Wayne.

The min requirement is 1 year full time paid experience in the NOC Code u intend to apply. And rest of the years of exp. add up points.
