wenstumped, any news about your ppr?

Nope, none yet. Still 'trying' to wait patiently (and failing miserably at it). How about you? Any news as yet? How about your medicals? I see you got your PER just a day after me and went 'In process' within the same week.

Wish you a very happy life in canada . and hope will find your job soon.
thanks for sharing your valuable experience with us.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

We finally landed in Toronto Pearson Airport on Friday, 5 Aug 11 at 4:30 pm (local time). It was a long flight. About 7 hours from Singapore to Dubai, 5 hours transit in Dubai, & 14 hours from Dubai to Toronto. Fortunately the leg room in both the Emirates planes were adequate for a 6 footer.

As was mentioned by others earlier, we were provided the Custom's Declaration Card on board the plane. Had a closer look at it, even though I have used it before, to note the question posed with regards to funds brought in. It's mentioned all fund you are bring – money and other instruments - totalling $10,000. So it's likely to be a “yes” for most of us not landing alone. Also note that the date format required is “YYMMDD”.

The first stop upon arrival is Immigration. After posing a few questions (e.g. amount brought, etc), and stamping our Passports, the officer cleared us with a smile and a “Welcome to Canada”. Next we were shown to a section for new Immigrants. Here you would be required to present your COPR, and again after filling it and returning a copy to you, you receive another smile and a “Welcome to Canada”. Next to 2 consecutive counters where you will be provided with several booklets, and forms, and another smile and “Welcome to Canada”. Finally after collecting our baggage, it was to Customs, where you have to present your “Goods Accompanying” and Goods to Follow” forms. I only had the former; as we opted to pay for excess baggage charges to bring everything in one go. The officer merely had a look at it and after stamping the form and returning one set to us, another smile and “Welcome to Canada”! After that we exited, and proceed to Ground Level (i.e. one level below Arrival) where we had already pre-booked a private van with a Red Car Service, to Guelph where our cousins resides.

We should be in Guelph for a couple of weeks till we find ourselves a suitable accommodation, most likely in Mississauga. Service Canada is closed today (Saturday), and so our plans is just to get our insurance, bank, and mobile line issues resolved over the weekend. In all it has been one great experience and everyone has been so welcoming - from the officials in the airport to the gentleman who drove the private van.

Cheers.
Congratulation on your landing Temasek.Thank you for sharing your experience.
keep in touch and good luck

Ladies & Gentlemen,

It gives me great pleasure to announce that finally my ecas status has moved from Received by Visa Office to In Process as of 3-Aug-2011.
It took London visa office 6 month ONLY to start processing the application. At this rate, I hope to be in Canada in next 2-3 years. :)

Congratulations to everyone who has received a good news.

Take Care,

M000dy

Greetings to All members.
I had posted the below query a couple of days back but did not get a reply. Hence re-posting

Dear forum members,

My medical report and the bank draft for RPRF reached London VO around 10th July, by separate couriers. My e-cas status still does not show "medicals received". Also today i checked with my bank if the Bank Draft has been encashed and was quite surprised to know that it has not been cashed as yet..

Is that normal ?? Please advise from your experience !!

thanks

Hello to seniors and all,
Please I have an urgent question.

I did not submit police certificates at the time of my application to CIO. My file has now been transferred to Buffalo for processing so I wanted to submit the police certificates and other additional documents about a new graduate degree and new Canadian work permit (I already live in Canada on a temporary visa).

My question is should I go ahead to submit the documents or should I wait to hear from Buffalo first?
And will I even ever hear from them requesting the police clearance and at what stage

The information on the Buffalo website is stated below but it dosent say anything about when to submit the documents I intend to send to them.
Updating an application for permanent residence
If you already have an application at an office for a permanent resident visa you must inform us of changes.

Please inform us immediately for:
o change of address, including change of e-mail address
o change of immigration representative
o request for withdrawal of your application

Please inform us after you have received your file number (letter B followed by 9 digits) for:
o birth, adoption, death, marriage, or divorce that changes information provided in your application

Hi,

I think for your Police certificate : This is not the right time to submit. They will ask you to do at the time of MR or PP submission.

But Yes for your education & work exp. i advise you to submit it ASAP.

Mayank
