CIIP stands for Canadian Immigrant Integration Program and I would certainly recommend that you attend a session if you have the chance. If they do not have sessions close to where you are, you could even sign up for an online session. It is a government funded program (so it is free for the applicants) so you really shouldn't miss out on it.

They basically give you a general idea about Canada on the first day, letting you know about things like job markets, how to go about making your resumes, the geography of the country etc.

The second day is the most useful as they sit with you one on one to discuss your profession and what you would need to do to be successful in landing a job asap once you get there. They also provide you with a lot of very useful links and put you in touch with their counterparts in Canada to offer assistance after you land.

This is the link if you would like to know more http://www.newcomersuccess.ca/index.php/en/about-ciip

All the best
it sounds useful for newcomers but it's limited just for several countries, isn't it?

Hey all,

Now that the peace has relatively returned to our thread, I would like to share an ****update for 'London applicants'.****

My address had disappeared a few days ago and last night it reappeared together with the added line 'Medical results have been received'.

I'm still not sure if there is any genuine correlation but there you go. ;D

All the best everyone.

Hi Wendy,

When this happened to us I think it was a Monday (20th June). By the Saturday (25th June) our ECAS was "Decision Made", and on the following Tuesday (28th June) we had passport requests by email.

So if you manage to get the same timelines as us you may be enjoying receiving your passport requests within the next 8 days ;) Might arrive by snail mail or email. Danishsoomro, Pavan and EmmaJ all got theirs by snail mail, we got ours by email so no definite pattern to it yet.

Wayne.

I would like to add that,
whenever applicants get the line "medical received" they get PPR within a week...good luck Ash :D

Well, initially they only had sessions in India, UK, Phillipines and China. They have recently started them in Dubai (UAE) which is where I attended it. They do have an online session as well that you can sign up for to attend from anywhere as long as you have a decent internet connection.

https://www.newcomersuccess.ca/index.php/en/register

Above is the registration link, once you begin to register you get to choose whether you want to attend it in person or online. Either way, it is useful and I recommend it for all new immigrants.

Congrats ALL who heard good news.By my side, I haven't submitted passport to VO yet.Hopefully next week, can do.

@ Wayne, glad to see you here again and it is really appreciative as you have been seen helping others for advice for a long time.

Each and every of you in this forum are being helpful and caring indeed. However, sometimes, we all might have different views and it might be quite emotionally charged, so we should all beware of being too critical of others. Anyway, it’s beautiful and best to “agree to disagree” on the point of contention. That way we all avoid one potential source of conflict meanwhile still working hands in glove to create such a wonderful forum. Since this forum, I believe, is very informative not only for current applicants but also for future applicants to some extent surely. Whereas I could not drop by the forum daily, once visit and really love seeing you all here.

Cheers!

Yes, I must admit, I am quite excited. I'm really hoping I get it by email, it would save at least a week to 10 days compared to snail mail. Hoping for the best for all of us!

Thank for the wishes Ritu, all the best to you as well.

Kathe, thanks for the words of wisdom :)

Not a single African country is included, not even for the on-line session.

Probably not wanted.

No wonder Accra is so slow.
