Unlike waiting for PER which is a fairly linear process where it is easy to predict, within usually a week or so, when you can expect it - the wait from "In Process" to medical requests is more volatile.

The time taken background document and, where needed, employment verification checks can differ greatly from applicant to applicant.

So don't panic too much if people around you are getting MR and you are not! :)

nothing heard from embassy till date for my case..ecas status showing in process from long time...seniors...any comments??? is ndvo slping or in movement mode? anyone else heard about their case updates....??????????

This site was found by Mitali (see earlier entry on this forum) and suggests that at least with NDVO the number of officers working on immigration applications is halved over the summer to cope with temporary visa applications. Its one possible explanation for the slower pace of NDVO processing of PR applications at this time????

Well guys there is a spanner in my application for now. My Passports reached London VO on Thursday and i received an email yesterday from them saying that the stupid lamination on my passport in off and i will need to get it fixed.
London VO also say in the email that the passport can be relaminated in Indian Embassy which i seriously doubt. Has anyone got such experience? I have read such cases on this thread but they had to get new passports.
Any help appreciated.

Oops ??? ???

I hope the Indian embassy in Ireland is able to issue a fresh passport soon :).

Thanks,

Hey all,
We fly this Tuesday, cant wait. Rented a small 1 bedroom at Mississauga, fully furnished.
Quick question, I wanted to prefill the PR card application form IMM5444, but this link says I do not need to fill this form or follow this process and the same will be issued as part of the immigration process.

Any contradicting views?
Cheers,
O

Have a safe flight Rahul :). Incidentally we are looking to live in Mississauga too :). How did you manage to rent before you landed? I contacted a couple of guys and all of them asked for 3 references, pay-stubs and employment contracts for a 1 year lease :-\ :-\.

I'm like, how on earth am I going to rent a place before we land? Arriving with kids, it is so important for us to have a place to go after we land, rather than looking into some hotels/motels..

It would be great if you can share details on how to rent a small 1 bedroom place before we land. BTW our tickets are booked for Sep 10th :).

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Cool Indira - sorry if you answered this, but are you landing in Toronto or Vancouver? Seem to remember you were undecided last time I enquired! :)

Wayne.

Folks,

Our tickets are booked for 10th Sep for Chennai - London - Toronto. We are trying to find a place to rent before we land in vain. We are looking at Mississauga currently. Almost all of the listings on the craiglists etc., are like, they need personal references, pay-stubs and employment contracts to sign a minimum 1 year lease. We thought a 6 month lease would make us more comfortable in case we will need to move to some other place, for jobs etc.,

Anyone living there and can help us on this regard with info?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
