Thank you for your condolence.

When I received PER from Sydney, Nova Scotia, my file number started with B00........

I send the specific enquiry using my Universal Client ID (UCI) since I have that when I entered first time to Canada and that is valid for your life time

It is just 'cut and paste' reply that they have made. they didn't read my 4 lines email. I jsut wrote the facts.

I am thinking of applying CAIPS since I am in Ottawa and I can do that by just walk-in.

entemaria.

Entemaria, sorry to learn about your brother's demise may his soul rest in peace

That does seem a long time to be "In Process", however it depends how many countries you have lived in and how complex your case is, to determine how long the background document checks will take.

The thing is contacting visa office unnecessarily will delay someone's application, if not yours, since every minute spent answering queries is a minute not spent processing cases.

If I were in your position I would wait until the end of July, and then if you do decide to send a query, phrase it as such that you are asking if they require any further information or further documents, and not "please give me my status" which tends to annoy them! :)

Best of luck.
Wayne.
thanks for the valuable suggestion :)

Well my contention is that if they can't decide in 4 months as to what they are confused about in a particular application then it raises doubt that the processing may not be strictly in the order in which the applications are received.......Especially when you know that many applicants who applied after you (as far as 3 months out) already have received medicals and few of them already running around with visas in their hand.

My suspicion as to why cases go "In Process" at different times to when they are RBVO is that when they are first received, they are assigned to a visa officer. Depending on the speed and the workload of the visa officer in question, it takes longer for some applications to go "In Process" than others.

Once "In Process", of course cases will vastly differ in complexitity and so the length of time to medicals will also differ.

I don't think any visa office actually processes applications randomly, however it may seem so to us! But a variety of factors are involved, seems pure luck as to how fast and/or busy your visa officer is may be one of them.

Sorry to hear about the loss.. Please accept my condolence to you & your family !!!
