Can I please ask, how long have you been "In Process" can I ask? I think up to 2 months it's taken some people to get medical requests and hear from visa office during their "In Process" time.

In ECAS do you have the line "Your application has been reviewed and we started processing on XYZ", and if so what is the date?

Wayne.
hi wayne,
I have been "In process" since March 30, 2011...desperately waiting for my MR.

waiting for your reply..

I am also getting a taste of ECAS not being accurate. Your ECAS turned Decision Made before you got your PP request. I got my PP request two weeks ago and still my ECAS is -in process. I am not complaining, just highlighting the discrepancy. I dont care what ECAS says until my app is progressing.

hey this is fragrance10 please update my status in the sheet, i received my 1st AOR on july 12th :)

Great news! :) London are kinda always "come back in 2 weeks" nowadays, I did hear there was a time when they let you drop them off earlier than 2pm and attempted to get them done the same day for you. Seems weird they make you wait 2 weeks since when they are ready to issue the visa isn't it a matter of sticking the visa into the passport and putting it with the other papers into the envelope?

Wayne.

You have a point there.
Accra for one is efficient to the extent that waiting time for visa collection after passport drop off maybe literally 2 hours!
But then, you only get to enjoy that kind of "express" service after harrowing waiting times for all the other processes involved.

That does seem a long time to be "In Process", however it depends how many countries you have lived in and how complex your case is, to determine how long the background document checks will take.

The thing is contacting visa office unnecessarily will delay someone's application, if not yours, since every minute spent answering queries is a minute not spent processing cases.

If I were in your position I would wait until the end of July, and then if you do decide to send a query, phrase it as such that you are asking if they require any further information or further documents, and not "please give me my status" which tends to annoy them! :)

Best of luck.

Yeah it seems many applications are done in one go when they do an ECAS update, so if you just miss a batch (I believe you got your PPR a few days after we did) then you may have to wait a few weeks for the next batch of ECAS updates to happen.

I think it is a manual update process and not automated. So certainly not to be relied upon.

best,

Well it seems to vary. We had medical results received by visa office 19th April and we had passport requests on 28th June, so about 2 months and 1 week for us.

I'd suggest 2 to 3 months would probably be a decent average, after medical results have been received by the visa office. For us, we had the line "Medical results have been received" and a few days later "Decision made" - so I think that "Medical results have been received" actually means "Medical results have been approved by our medical services guy" and that the bottleneck is getting these approved.

Our visa office (London) acts as the medical services division for several other visa offices as well as their own, which is why medicals to passport requests can vary a bit from month to month depending on their workload.

That's my best guess anyway.

For me it's because I am bored sh*tless of the UK after 38 years here and want to try somewhere new! And me and my wife both love Canada having been there twice.
