Don't apply for a police certificate until they ask in my opinion. If they request it with the medicals, just do the medicals and then attach a cover letter stating you have applied for a police certificate and will mail it once you get it from the FBI.

That seems pretty much the standard way people handle this situation.

I need some expert advice.

When i first submitted my documents to CIO, I included the PCC in there. Now it's been more than a year when the PCC were issued by the FBI and local police station in my home country.

Now BUFFALO VO can ask for PCC anytime. I don't want to submit request to FBI because I am not sure when will buffalo request them. If i request now and buffalo don't ask for it in next couple months, these new PCC will be wasted, as it says on CIC website that PCC should not be older than 3 months on the date you submit it to CIC.

I am double minded, the FBI will take approx 2 months to give me the new reports, should i apply now or should i wait for buffalo to request it.

And the second question is, if buffalo request it with Med, how long will i have to turn in these docuemnts, do i have 90 days or 180 days.

Hi Maani,

I would agree with Avi and other buffalo applicants to apply for PCC until you get in process or you are asked for it. Most probably, you will get the medical and PCC request together and the medicals take 6-8 weeks to get processed also, so you should have enough time for FBI certificates also. There is no point in spending money and also burdening FBI with new requests. Yes, i understand buffalo processing is very slow, i wish it had been more efficient. I hope you get in process soon.

I have not received anything. My status updated on Ecas on 20 june. The line says that we started processing your application on June 15th.

Hi Entemeria,

I wasn't able to check forum for 2 days and it was hard to find your reply. I guess you shd get your MR and PCC request in couple of weeks. I'd suggest not bugging them much, it doesn't have much effect since they work on their own pace and own criteria.

Natsmi is right and I have a few additions. Form IMM5406 is the same as additional family information form. Actually, requirements depend on your VO. I just passed this same situation. It was the VO that sent the required documents. I don't think DMPs will do your baby's medical without Medical form from your VO. I don't know how Natsmi did that. You need to add $150 bank draft addressed to RECEIVER GENERAL FOR CANADA. London VO never asked for proof of Funds (though I have the necessary funds covering the baby before I submitted our application to CIO till date) and only requested for 4 passport photos.

Good news good news. Got MR, PCC, bank statement and personal net worth statement request today. Date of issue june 30th
My post office deliberately kept it on hold so that i check the post office and give some monetary reward to them.. my address disappeared on jun 30 and the date of issue is also jun 30..
