Bad news for me guys. :(
I have received NER yesterday. I think an unfair one.
CIC officer didn't award me any points for working experience as a self-employed. I had sent founding documents of my firm, as well as the cover letter with the main duties, but that didn't seem to satisfy him.

Here is the explanation:
*
-No points were assigned for employment period October 2007- present as insufficient evidence that you performed the actions described in the lead statement for the occupation or that you performed a substantial number of the main duties of NOC 7216 including all of the essential duties. For self-employed persons, third party documentation indicating the type of service rendered to support a NOC code should be provided. Such as but not limited to: Contracts, Invoices/ receipts, Letters from a third party company indicating specific services provided by your company.
*

I thought that designated VO is the one to demand additional documents.
Also, does anybody know if I'll get the refund?
Sorry to hear of this. Self-employment is always a tricky one. Did you include any actual letters / receipts / references from some of the customers you were working for? Founding documents of the firm and a covering letter are still essentially documents drafted by yourself, so they have no real proof that you performed those duties without being backed up by customer references.

All supporting documents should be provided when you apply to CIO - the visa office may ask for additional documents if there is anything minor missing, but still there has to be enough for you to pass the eligibility review at CIO.

You will get a full re-fund of the processing fees. However, you will probably not get your application back if you failed at the eligibility review stage at CIO.

Is there any possibilty that you can re-gather your documents, this time including customer reference letters, and re-apply? Last year there were only just over 410 applications for NOC 7216, so the cap for this NOC is unlikely to fill up this year at all, and even if it does his the 500 cap it will take many months. So time is on your side to get another application together!!

Wish you the best of luck.
Wayne.

Can anybody suggest me what that amout is? and what is the minimum amout on money we need to take with us? I am thinking to take 6000-7000Cad$ draft and some cash..what do you think?

i think that they meant the amount that is precisely determined as a "proof of funds":
Number of
Family Members Funds Required
(in Canadian dollars)
1 $11,115
2 $13,837
3 $17,011
4 $20,654
5 $23,425
6 $26,419
7 or more $29,414

It is the number quoted for proof of funds in your application.

Although in your application you declare the funds you expect to have available, I think at POE they are only interested in seeing you have at least the minimum funds required.

The officials at port of entry will not have access to your application forms and won't know what you've written on there, as far as I am aware. They'll just have the CIC list of minimum required funds.

Dr Hasib what do you think about all the addresses disappearing ::)
Its just my personal opinion:

The address that appears on the e-cas is the corresponding address of the applicant, which means VO contacts/posts documents to the applicants at this address. VO makes the address available so that we can edit the same if there are any changes in the address. VO just doesn't want to take the risk of mailing the applicant to a wrong address.

Now, when the address disappears, it means that the VO has just sent/mailed you something and now the address couldn't be changed (as they have already mailed u something.. it could be 2nd AOR, MRs or DMs).. observe that all of them come via posts (register/ordinary).

another point to be noted is that e-cas changes to decision made after VO releases ur stamped passports (Plz check with the guys who have received their visas.. DM date is latter than Visa issued date)..

So its just my observation.. people could have other theories as well..

As Queencougar and Kolhapuri have said, the first (and hitherto only) CHC London post-June-2010 applicant to receive their visa was a Pakistan national.

So how do you arrive at your conclusion???

Wayne.
I think this visa office required core/dip security check, I think that is why it is taking bit of time ?

Hi - no we're going next Thursday. This Thursday was too short notice for my wife to get the day off work.

So the plan is to go next Thursday (7th July) and then pick them up with visas on Thursday 21st July!

We did walk past CHC London and saw the "Queue here" sign outside 38 Grosvenor Street whilst we were in London last week for our CIIP course, so we know where we're going! Just a few mins walk from Bond Street tube station.

Annoying we had some photos taken ready in the very latest CIC specification, and the specification given to us in the PDF document by CHC London isn't the very latest, so we're having to get re-prints done on matte paper instead of gloss. Best to go with exactly what they ask for though.

Wayne.

As always, clear point and completely understandable. Nothing less expected from you, Wayne. I really appreciate your help. Hopefully you'll be lurking around in the new july11 thread. :)
Yes, I'll reapply as soon as possible with the additional documents which weren't provided last time. Have to figure out how to get the second copy of IELTS as the B.council refuse to issue one but that's sort of minor glitch.

@Dr.Hasib, thank you.

OK! :) Well I know the rejection is disheartening but the good news for you is that your NOC is still on the list, and it is one which is unlikely to fill up in a hurry. So time is on your side.

Not being able to get duplicate IELTS from British Council is a pain in the ass but I have heard people who have managed it. They may be able to send them to a company if they won't send them to you directly.

Also you can try quoting them the Data Protection Act. If the information is held on a computer in the UK then they legally MUST furnish you will all personal details about you which they hold on their computers, without undue delay or expense, in writing, on request - and that includes IELTS results. That's UK law, so any policy they have is irrelevant it won't re-write the law and they are breaking the law by refusing to furnish you with the details. They are allowed to charge an admin fee but they are not allowed to refuse outright. Of course having to furnish you with the details doesn't mean they have to produce a copy certificate - they can I guess just provide it in a letter - nevertheless if they are being very awkward if may be a card worth playing.

I wish you the best of luck.
Wayne.

Moreover I will be spending some money from that amount here for shopping the necessary things before I move to Canada. Can anybody find out if 6-7000$ will be enough or not?
