My address disappeared from Ecas the same day Ecas changed to RVD by VO. I have also requested an address change a couple of weeks ago, maybe that's the reason why ::)

Good luck everyone !

Our address is still there, but our status changed to IN PROCESS (I don't know when).
So it must be some bug because we were never RVBO, just CIO ER COMPLETE and then in process :)
Anyone with the same case?

Best wishes,
MiTSch

Hello Emad, I don't know if this is possible or not, you can give it a try.

In Abbaseya you can do it in one day starting early in the morning because the it is always crowded.

From ramsis, you can take a microbus to abbaseya or there are public transportation busses and mini busses.

Also if you prefer to take a taxi it is not far, maybe just 15 minutes.

Good luck!

Magdy

Hi!

Firstly congrats to everyone that has received good news recently. Especially Wayne for getting PPR - you deserve it for all your hard work.

I have a dilemma:
My application was forwarded to London on 25th Feb and since then I have heard nothing. My ECAS has displayed "In Process" ever since my PER, so I can only assume there is a glitch. I sent a case specific enquiry to London about a month ago highlighting the ECAS issue but alas, I have still heard nothing.
I'm very anxious to get to Canada ASAP as I have been away from my Canadian girlfriend for a year now and it's really hard on both of us. The worst part is not knowing what's going on or when I can expect to eventually land in Canada.

Anyway, I recently discovered that I am eligible for the International Experience Canada (IEC) Initiative which will give me a 1 year working visa in a matter of weeks. I'm really tempted to go for it and hopefully at some stage over the year I'll finally get my PR which would mean I could land and stay for good.

Does anyone know if it is possible to apply for the IEC while I have a FSW1 PR application in process? Do you think it's a good idea?

I'd really appreciate your opinions. Thanks :)

Hi. London is one of the slower visa offices. Many July/August/September/October 2010 applicants have not even gone "In Process" yet so I think in your case as a Nov 2010 applicant you may need a little patience, it is likely to be a while before you receive medical requests. Please also note that it is common for ECAS to show "IN PROCESS" when the application is first added onto the system, and then reverted to "Received by visa office" or "CIO Eligibility Review complete" etc.

Do you have the extra line "Your application was received and we started processing on XYZ" in the ECAS detail?

CIC recognises duel intent and will allow you IMO to apply for IEC whilst you have a permanent PR application in progress. You will have to inform them if you are changing address, of course, but I see no reason why it would impact on your PR visa application.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Whilst there are applications received before yours who are not yet in process I don't think there's much point in sending reminders to CHC London. All they will do is say "it is awaiting review", if they reply at all.

I realise this is a very frustrating process, particularly since London tends to be a bit random with the order in which it processes these, but unless your case slips past all others around you I think hassling the visa office is only going to add extra delays. Every minute spent replying to an applicant enquiring about their status is a minute not spent processing an application :)

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Thanks Wayne,

My ECAS has definitely been In Process since the 25th Feb (I check it every day!). Here is the detailed print out:

We received your application for permanent residence on November 19, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on February 25, 2011. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on February 25, 2011.

-This is why I think there is a glitch....

Yes I think that's an ECAS glitch, and one which I have seen several people post about.

It's physically impossible for you to be in process since the date of your PER, unless CIC have found a way to physically transfer your file from Nova Scotia to London instantly!

Realistically "In Process" will take at least a month from date of PER, more likely 2 or 3 months. Some have been waiting even longer than that.

I'd certainly give it a month or two before panicing, hopefully London will be rolling with these apps more smoothly by then.

We don't have that extra line. So I guessed correctly - still waiting for Received by visa office :D
