Changes to July 1st! NEW CAP OF 500 PER NOC. SAME NOC's AS BEFORE

I just hope they will get on with already submitted applications.

The great news about this is that I don't think there is any reason of the new changes affecting our processing time. Same NOC's so they should just process them in the same order. On the other side for new applicants this is going to be very similar to the us H1-B Visa process where it is a lottery to get in. I beleive probably a giant number of applicants have their apps ready to send them on July 1st. I wouldn't be surprise that the CAP for the common NOC will fill up in less than a month

Rod

You are absolutely right since they have lowered the number the VISA OFFICES will have less stress and workload so our applications will go in the same speed.

Thanks

+1 for you for such a vigilant on eye on what is going on with CIC.

+1 from me also entemaria.

I have made a separate thread on the main forum about this also, since not everyone reads this thread but it affects everyone! :)

Means it should not affect >J2010 applicants in any way (since the NOCs are exactly the same). However, it will give CIC further opportunity to eat into their 300,000 application backlog from before June 2010.

Wayne.

Now, for applicants who do not have an offer of employment in Canada, the government will further limit the number of new federal skilled worker applications that are considered for processing to 10,000 a year, beginning July 1. This limit will help better align the number of applications with labour market demand. Within the 10,000 limit, a maximum of 500 new applications in each of the current 29 priority occupations will be considered.

Great News! Hopefully, now the pace of movement will continue at the VOs where there is appreciable movement and improvements at other VOs where there is less movement.

Exactly .. but I don't think it will fill that fast .. but I would say 3 to 4 months

I can predict that NOC like 3152- Registered Nurses and 1122 - will be filled within days.

I agree. I know my consultant has a backlklog at his office, since it was a fair prediction that NOC's wouldnt change. So I bet this might be a common strategy ammong them

Hello Everybody,

you+are_reading_the_100th_post.jpg

Glad to hear the news quickly thru this forum

I suspect NOCs 1122 and 3152 will fill quickly 'coz those who are waiting since Nov/Dec 2010 will apply immediately 'coz they have file ready with them only to update with few documents
Hope they get chance to get in this time and my good luck to them

Thanks

Hi Cam. You bet I will, and definitely hope more often than now. Been quite busy of late winding down work, sale of house, and tons more. I am not sure if there is one already established, but I would certainly also hope to start up an informal volunteer group after landing to help especially those who do not know anyone in Toronto with some assistance during their initial days - just something to reduce the anxiety following landing, to help with the initial formalities, to introduce to the bigger CanadaVisa family already at Toronto/GTA, etc. Incidentally I am still holding you to the meet up promised; that is unless you decided to switch to Vancouver. Cheers.

Hi Temasek,

Heartfelt congrats on your successful accomplishment! Best Wishes to you and family in a journey to your dream land!
With regards to a volunteer group, what a beautiful idea! If I landed on Toronto, I would certainly lend my hands to your volunteer works.

Cheers,
Kathe
