I have a friend who sent his full dox to Canada May 2011 then last week he got a letter stating his application eligibility review is done and passed
How can he check about his file status online?
Is the application # starting with E the same as the file number? Or a new one will be sent to him from London?
https://services3.cic.gc.ca/ecas/?app=ecas&lang=en
go to this link, enter ur UCI number/file no with E/receipt no and other required info u will know ur status

:-X Its been soo quiet... I wonder if the new rules comming out are playing into this... :'( I need to move to Canada for mi own sanity and my marriage. ???

Hello Friends

Recently somebody told me that if you are immigrating to Canada and have one way ticket, you may be asked for Tax Clearence letter/No tax due letter by the Immigration Officer at airport in India. They do this sometimes to make money? Although I have no dues but I do not have this letter. Please advice if anybody faced this kind of problem or know something like this. I will be going to Canada next months so I am worried for this.

Thanks for the help

Sachin

Chandigarh VO don't deal with immigration cases.

Dear friends,

I landed in Canada last year and i'm planning to move there perminantly within few months, i have some enquiries about life there , and any help will be greatly appreciated

1. how long should i still support my life and my family? and if i cannot get job after 6 months do the govenment give me any financial support?

2. I think that i can support my self and my family for about 6 months but if i cannot get job how could we ive there?

3. what are the available jobs that i can get putting in mind that i have MSC in anatomy

4. do any body has idea about life in newfoundland? is it costy? is it good place for new immigrants?

kind regards

1. Don't you expect to have to support your family permanently? The government do not want immigrants who cannot support themselves so welfare is not readily available.
2. You can't.
3. The same as anywhere with such a qualification. Do you have a job where you are now? Then look for the same in Canada. The website will tell you all about vacancies and potential earnings in different locations.
4. Anywhere is a good place for new immigrants with a job, but everywhere is costly to live if you have no income and a family in tow.
Newfoundland is much cheaper than places like Vancouver for living expenses, but there will be fewer jobs and probably less rental accommodation than in more populous areas like Toronto.

If you are concerned about the job situation, do some research yourself on the internet and telephone potential employers.
If you are worried about the money I would also advise you to either -
*postpone landing until you have saved up more money or
*go on a recce trip b]without [/b]your family and get a job so that you can be sure of being able to support them and get them to arrive later.

You cannot expect to turn up in a new country and then claim money to support your family from a government you have never paid any taxes to. That would be most unfair >:(

I think we will hear from Buffalo till Aug. I feel good about Aug not because it is my birth month ;) but I think It's almost 30 weeks after they received 1st files. let's hope together that this summer brings us good news and we won't have to wait till next year.
When I think about 19 months processing time since they officially received our files (mine 25th March) I get crazy >:(
Try to stay positive. We are all in the same boat :)
