Hi Wayne,
when did you get booked for these dates? I have applied about a month ago. There is no reply from CIIP. Can I attend even if I am not booked for those dates?
Thanks

Shalom

You must get booked. You register on the web site and send a copy of your medicals + resume. Then they mail you with a date, you mail back to confirm and then mail you confirmation.

Takes a couple of weeks, but if you applied a month ago you should have heard by now so I would contact them again.

Wayne.

Or you perhaps mean "cheque"? :)

Wayne.

Don't Canadians spell "cheque" the American way? ;)

Wayne.

I register on their website but I did not see anything requesting for my medical or CV. After registering, the site said that they will get back to me shortly.
Did you send the medical + resume via email?
Thanks.

i2canil:- As you said, now the new system post 26th june is to speed up things. the first review is done at Nova Scotia. then the file is transferred to new delhi. they do the second review including the background checks. from the CIC website it is clear that RPRF is encashed only after the case is approved and prior to visa stamping. Now from the various time lines in this forum,it is noticed that in some cases visa is stamped just 10 days from the date of encashment of RPRF. I know other cases also with similar time lines. now what is security check...i know one particular case where a person has lived in london for 1 year for studies and worked 1 year. while filing the case she applied for a new passport reporting that she has lost the passport and filed an affidavit that she has not travelled abroad. now last week she received the visa in just 6 months sharp. this is a case i personally know. so what is the relevance of security check..

another notable feature is that those who have completed the medicals and sent the PPs in the last week of march are in queue and those who have send the passports in the last two week of april and early may have received the visas within 1 month. This shows that NDVO wants to bring down the average time for processing post 26th june. now i think people like me and silent will get the visas by june last week...most probably after almost 3 months ..

mahi

interesting examples...i know there is no genuine security check or background check or a standard protocol to be followed by the Visa office/ers.
as u said,if NDVO wants to bring down the avg. time for visa issue, they shud have issued visas based on the applications they received. Keeping waiting the former and granting visas to latter candidates is not called lessening the avg. time of processing.
It seems, they issue visas based on high demand occupations(within 29 occupations), best case scenarios they feel at that point of time(but this is not so bcos all the candidates who granted visas till now do not seem best cases, i think) etc... this security checks, all are just crap

Hahahaha Wayne I live in America and we spell it check... But, I guess I cant argue with a british fellow about proper english. ;)

Wayne.

Check is Check in Canada and States and Check is Cheque in UK and India (and many other places)....it took me a while to get used to it.

Check it out ;D

The Americans and the rest of the world is poles apart when it comes to Bill and Cheque. At the end of meal here you request your bill and pay the cheque, in America, you request your cheque and pay the bill.
