Thanks Pippin :)

So, we are looking at

Item Vancouver: Toronto
Rent - 1 bedroom 800 800
Food - Indian cooking for 2 adults and a kid 600 500
Travel - Public Transportation for 2A & 1 K --- 250
Phone * 2 and Internet --- 100
Daycare/after school day care 400 400
Travel - Car --- 350

It would be great if someone can provide inputs on the blanks above. I welcome people to edit the above table and bring us to a better picture.

Apart from this, how much do we spend on education, healthcare, miscellaneous stuff etc., during the initial days? I know the schools and health care is kinda free, but I'm sure there must be some minimal costs involved?

How about having a car in Vancouver? What is the cost?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

hai every one
it is true .....never trust any agents.............i also suffered with them.

Dear Administrators
What was the ECAS status of DIBS prior to visa denied? It was too fast for someone to make him red and same comments visa denied on 2 columns in the tracker. Just curious to know about dibs last ecas status prior to visa denied. Cannot we put denied comment in one place so that we can at least know the prior ecas status. Thanks

While killing time myself on the City of Toronto web site I came across this mentoring program that might be helpful for some forum members.
The program brings together recent skilled immigrants and established professionals in occupation-specific mentoring relationships.
It seems like they focus on these professions:
Information Technology
Banking and Finance
Engineering
Human Resources
Sales, Marketing and Communications

but they say that any profession is welcome.

Here is the link on City of Toronto

And here is direct link of the program

My suggestion would be to make and highlight corrections to the pages in your original application and Fax them straight to the VO with an explanation cover letter with your Name, DOB and UCI as soon as possible. It's a small mistake and probably happened because people in different departments at the VO didn't crosscheck, otherwise it would've been obvious to them what happened. Worth a try at least.

Dear Canadajimmy!
i have read your experience when you got rejected at first at CIO Sydney in some other early postings...... you did it and you got it...
its a worth try and you are not going loose it.
you know when i got married i informed that to CIO sydney with spouse's Birth certificate and marriage certificate but a week later on 29 November I recieved PER and it clearly said for further communications contact VO buffalo.
I wrote to buffalo and then they asked me to file an appication to CIO sydney and they said we do not deal with that.
but i wrote an email back asking clarifications citing the letter from CIO and other information in CIC web
then they realised the mistake and added my spouse to my application
please advice the guy to make his/her points one by one and support with documentation
