Update from our side: We might LAND in Vancouver instead of Toronto! One of our long time friends is settled in Vancouver and he is offering to help us settle there :o. Unsure about how easy it is to get a survival job, at least for me?

On the other hand, my cousin is settled in Toronto and she is willing to host us for the initial weeks too..

Totally confused now ::) ::) Suggestions?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hello Indira,

I'm still waiting for your reply on Architects topic ! :)

Concerning the landing city, I can tell you that most people chooses Toronto for Job issues, because it's the bigger city, financial center, and so on… But, it's not sure it will be as easy as we can forecast. Maybe others cities are more in need of specific skills that are saturated in Toronto… I think it's very hard to really appreciate these issues before being there..

On an other hand, you know that you can land in a city, and then move as much as you want ! I heard even in Quebec ! Once you get you PR card, you are free to move, you have the same rights as a canadian citizen (except voting)…

I would recommend not signing a long term rent for a house before being sure to settle there… The best way to do it is finding a kind of appart-hotel, for one month period, in order to have time for feeling you are at home and beginning you settlement.

Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Further review is needed before a decision can be made on your application. I am therefore unable to provide you with a definitive time frame for finalization. I can confirm, however, that processing is proceeding and there is currently no action required on your part.

Our office will be in touch with you directly should we need any further information or to advise of the next steps. Until then, we will not be able to provide any further information regarding your application.

We trust that this information will be of assistance.

Hi Positive,

Seems to me like they are still doing document background checks. I understand they use third parties to perform some of these checks, so it is probable they are waiting to hear back from one or more of these third parties.

The delay I realise must be frustrating, but take heart. Your application certainly hasn't failed yet, so chin up ! :)

Wayne.

So sad for Ashok :(.never give up.

Thanks Wayne ...Hope everything turns out to b OK...Govt clerks at my employers office r not very good in their demeanor and they can not communicate in English...I have not informed them to expect a call from CHC ND ....They(clerks) r corrupt ppl...Keeping my fingers crossed...Pls pray for me...thanks

Well I don't believe in god so there would be little point in my praying for you, but I will however keep my fingers crossed :)

Your application won't necessarily involve employment verification if they are satisfied with the documents you have provided. But it is possible.

Have you got a work reference letter from them? If so I don't see the harm in trying to warn them to possibly expect a call from CHC ND?

Sorry guys ...... I was out of this wonderful thread for few days ... was running from pillar to post ...for new passport .... :'( :'( ....... 'Tatkal' (means immediate) procedure sucks in Hyderabad ..... more details on request .. :P :P

OK ... bad news ....... Our dear friend Ashok could not make it in the interview. The basic topic and the motive for rejection itself was rediculous ...... 'NOC duties (1122) not matching'. Then why the interview was called?? .... they could have simply raised the query through mail / letter!! ....... Even after 1/2 an hour of convincing there was no success ...... instead of giving chance with a positive outlook, VO started off with the denial.
Don't worry Ashok ....... may be there is something much better coming in your way ............ ;)

Anil

Welcome back Anil :)
I am very sorry for Ashok :( It is just confusing that intially CIO assess files against NOC description in theri manual and our reference letters then it comes up that the visa office assess it again but with a different method. This raises two concerns. one of them is the lack of standardization between the two offices and the other concern is about the officers themselves or some of them. Its a big exclamation mark ! This rejection could have been done so early with no such a pain for the applicant for the hope of immigration. On the other hand, how would we look on the positive final eligibility issued by CIO ? It is considered as a formal evaluation supported by their OP6 manual for all details. Now the ounce is on the officer to explain it in a formal letter as well. I am truly sorry Ashok and will recommend you to focus on the new instructions coming from minister in june added to finding out a way in other immigration categories.

@ Wayne...i will try ur solution ...God bless u..

Coolbreeze....I can't seem to reply to your PM, so writing the answer here. Our fbi clearance arrived after about a week from when the cc was charged. So it would be the week + transit time to India. Did you pay for fedex or standard mail? You could say atleast a couple of weeks for the clearance to arrive in India.

Feeling sad for Ashok.. :(

But of course it is not the end of the life... Cheer up!!
I spoke to Anil today and i told him that though I have an AEO, but i made up my mind for 50-50... If I get it, fine.... if not, I am prepared :D... no issue!!!

Good luck for your future career my friend !!!
