Excellent, I had no idea you'd decided on Vancouver! Definitely have to have a meet up, though I'm going to the Penny Arcade Expo at the end of August so hopefully it'll all time OK. :P

Well, if Wayne takes up our offer of lodging for that visit, maybe we can all meet up there together?
I feel a house party coming on..... ;D

Sorry guys ...... I was out of this wonderful thread for few days ... was running from pillar to post ...for new passport .... :'( :'( ....... 'Tatkal' (means immediate) procedure sucks in Hyderabad ..... more details on request .. :P :P

OK ... bad news ....... Our dear friend Ashok could not make it in the interview. The basic topic and the motive for rejection itself was rediculous ...... 'NOC duties (1122) not matching'. Then why the interview was called?? .... they could have simply raised the query through mail / letter!! ....... Even after 1/2 an hour of convincing there was no success ...... instead of giving chance with a positive outlook, VO started off with the denial.
Don't worry Ashok ....... may be there is something much better coming in your way ............ ;)

Anil

Sad to know Anil, But I am sure when god closes one door he opens a better door.

Good Luck Ashok, all my good wishes for you my friend...

oh okay.thank you

Nice to see you back on the forum Anil dada ;)
I was planning to hunt you down if you would remain silent for couple of days..
Sorry to hear Ashok's news..can't find any words of consolation for him :-[ :(
I agree with you, NDVO could clarify it instead of calling him for Interview.

regards,
Dr.Hasib

Oh dear! That's terrible for Ashok, I wonder why they bothered to call him for the interview if the problem was the job description. And why didn't the intial review at CIC catch this before the PER was issued?

Anyway, I wish you all the best Ashok, I know there is something far better awaiting you.

Nice to have you back Anil.

Welcome back Anil :) Yes, the PP thing sucks! Ask me about it :o. I'm sure you would have got the passport by now :P?

Sorry to hear about Ashok's interview. I guess the door is not closed on him as it was just a job duties mismatch. So, other streams should work for him, may be an AEO?

I wish him luck for the next move.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Update from our side: We might LAND in Vancouver instead of Toronto! One of our long time friends is settled in Vancouver and he is offering to help us settle there :o. Unsure about how easy it is to get a survival job, at least for me?

On the other hand, my cousin is settled in Toronto and she is willing to host us for the initial weeks too..

Totally confused now ::) ::) Suggestions?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Furthermore, why did CIO pass his final eligibility review if he wasn't eligible? If his NOC duties did not match, then his applications should not have even got to the visa office.

My sympathies for Ashok, not only has his application failed but they seem to have wasted more of his time and money than they needed to!

Wayne.

Wayne,

Is there a reason why you chose Vancouver? I'm curious if that might help us decide on the landing.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
