Congratulations Temasek

I also had an Email from Cairo VO instructing me to arranage a courrier service to pick up my medical
And pay RPRF for both me and my spouse
I need to know what information do I need or have to provide the courrier to be recognized as my agent, File no. is allowed to be given to the courrier beside full name???? please advice
[/quote ]
First of all, congratulations for a step forward in the positive direction :) Second, regarding your enquirey about the courrier, I have not had a similar situation. However I believe you will have to call dhl for example and ask them about the procedure of picking up your documents from the canadian embassy. I think they have done this before and they can assist you :)
Best luck

Yay! Top of page 2000!!! :)

Hi 9j,

I am planning to apply under 3142.
How difficult is the process of credential evaluation?
If this part is not done then I cant even work as assisstant physio in canada?

Regards,
kg

The challenges with the credential evaluation is more with the length of time it take to complete it more than any actual difficulty with the evaluation process itself. It is currently taking up to 5-6 months after all documents are received by The Alliance to complete the initial evaluation and if you will need to go through PLAR (re-evaluation of other form of formal and informal experience to fill any deficiency in your primary physiotherapy training) you can add another 3-5 months to that. The Alliance in recent years have developed modules, on-line materials, and link with other institutions that can help with compensating for deficiencies if any exists in your physiotherapy training from your home country. So you don't really need to be physically present in Canada to get the evaluation over with. You also have to factor in additional 8-12months minimum to prepare for the 2 stages of the competency exams. Really you are knocking on 2 years before any hope of clinical practice at the earliest. This is why I advise that the process of evaluation at least, should commenced long before we move to Canada. safe time, money and helps to put the rest of the process in perspective before you move.

You do not necessarily need credential evaluation to work as a PT assistant in canada, but completing it might boost your chances. Also being a PT from your home country doesn't guaranteed that you'll secure a PT assistant job either. My advise is to process both immigration and professional licensing in tandem while you are back in your home country.

All the best mate.
