hi all

need a suggestion from all of you. Pls help

I am planning to ask a friend in canada to call CIO and verify if my new address has been updated in records by CIo and Buffalo Vo or not. My ecas has been showing old address all throughout. I have informed Buffalo Vo of my address change many times via the online
case specific enquiry as well as fax but here has been no response of acknowledgement. I want to do this as people from buffalo have started receiving MR's.

Do you think it would be wise to have a friend disguise as me and call up CIO helpline to ask if the address has been change and also to know what is the status of my application. There was a instance in this forum wherein a person(he was himself present in canada) called up cio to confirm the address change and they told that ecas always shows old address but they had communication of his new address and had updated the new one for any correspondance.

Pls sugggest if i sjould try this?

Anil/Wayne/Indira/Hasib/Quuencougar/wendy/all seniors please let me know what u suggest

Hi Avi,

I wouldn't recommend that your friend pretend to be you to get the information. It would be far easier and safer to fill out a representative form and fax it to Buffalo. Your friend would then legally be your representative so they would have no problem sharing your info with him/her. This is of course just my opinion and when it comes to immigration I prefer to play by the rules.

if his friend become his representative then further communication like MR, PPR will be sent to his friend's address!
Avi,
telling lie is not a good idea.

yes...there is no landing fee(RRPF) for children.

Thanks... :) :) I'm hoping for the best..

The letter to which ECAS refers isn't a letter at all - it is an email. That will e what we call the PER - Positive Eligibility Review and t means that CIO ave looked at your application and decided that it is OK to send it to the Visa Office (VO).
This will have gone to the e-mail of your nominated representative and they should have been looking out for it! It might have gone to their Junk e-mail and they might have let it be automatically deleted if they do not check their Junk folder.
If you have arranged employment it is supposed to e quicker processing, but we are also Cat 2 and it has not proved to be so. We applied on 7 th September, our VO is London and we are still on ECAS as RECEIVED BY VISA OFFICE.
Others who are Category 1 all around us, who applied before and after are receiving their medical requests or even their visas :(, but we are still stuck. I cannot say why Cat 2 is being processed so slowly or if it is just London. There are so few Cat 2 it is hard for anyone to tell you how long it might be.
I am sorry, but I am not sure how your previous immigration dealings will impact on your application, but they will have it all on file and they might ask you for interview or at least check your LMO thoroughly.

Received my PPR, dated 9 May 11, through Registered Mail yesterday. Also received were the receipt to the RPRF paid, explanatory notes to the manner the Passport(s) are to be submitted, a form to provide brief details of applicant, spouse, and dependent(s), and all original University transcripts. Was given 60 days to submit the Passport and details. Needless to say, I will submit in less than 60 hours.. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Interestingly they also mentioned that it would take them approximately 2 weeks to return the Passports should I decide to self-collect them. Hopefully that's the case.

Cheers.

Avi,
telling lie is not a good idea.

I agree with you Hasib, but if Avi wants his friend to collect his information, this is the only 'legal' way. If other communication are sent to his friend in future, I'm sure they could courier it to him to save time. In fact, it may even be faster than the regular mail from the VO.

All the best Avi, I hope you get the details you are looking for asap.

Congratulations Temasek!!!

Congrats temasek
