A question to everyone: The e-case reads :"Your application was reviewed and we started processing on May 3, 2011"; so does 'your application was reviewed' mean the VO eligibility review is completed and they're going directly into BC and security checks?

Once again congrats on going "In Process", very nice to hear London VO finally working on more applications.

Yes, visa office eligibility review happens before applications go "In Process". Therefore, at least as best I can gather, you are safely through the VO eligibility review (which I think is only a brief review anyway to ensure CIO did not make any mistakes) once your application goes to "In Process".

Security checks ARE part of background checks - but they are basically part 2. Part 1 are the document checks - educational documents and work experience letters etc.

After medicals, security checks begin which are Part 2 of the background checks.

Congrats, well you are correct about the in process thing. My app also went into process on 14 April and ecas started showing it as in process on 18 th of April then I received th MR RPRF and PCC later but the letter was dated 18 th of April. So does it mean the did my BC and security checks in 4 days then yes.

Security checks simply cannot be done in 4 days, to the best of my knowledge.

Qorax says the following about them (you can find the post in his sticky at the top of the forum):

"Security & Criminality Checks:
A part of the b/ground checks is the 'Security Check'. It commences after our med results are submitted to the CHC. This is a major activity -mainly concerning our 'safe inclusion' into the Canadian Soil; vis-a-vis, Political, Socio-Econmical, Anti-Social disposition, perceived Threat to Canada's integrity etc. This gets us the SDEC, CDEC & SECCRIM.

This is a serious & time-consuming stage, involving many agencies, including CSIS, Interpol, NASC, Database Checking & touch-base with Local Police. Many things are considered here... "

Security checks begin after CHC get your medical results back from the DMP. I find it unlikely they can be done in less than 30 days even for a simple case.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on April 6, 2011 to <my address>. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us. If we have sent the letter to the wrong address, please contact us.

I had informed CIO NS Sydney by Email, VO Buffalo through Email and Fax about change in address, and had sent a case specific enquiry.

Someone was working on Saturday, surprisingly.

It's was probably a glitch in their system. I doubt someone was working (specially in Buffalo on a Saturday). At most they exported data to ecas or something. I have lost all hopes in Buffalo. It seems that was the date when CIO sent you the PER.

Anyways lets hope its true that they are working... :-X

Hi Spicejet, this is GREAT NEWS!!!...hope to hear more good news from others soon...

If you have mentioned your spouse Indian address in the application (Background Declaration), I guess they will send the form to that address. Keep a track of it buy checking with your family in India.If you don't hear anything in the next few days, then its better to contact Buffalo .

Congrats! May be will see a pattern now with Buffalo issuing more MRs now. DId you send your PCCs with the application? Its more than 6 months and if Buffalo is not asking for new PCCs, thats even better. Your MR definitely appears normal since you were one of the earliest applicant. Hopefully, your MR would be followed by more MRs. Also, can you please let us know which DMP you are planning to go to in US.
