>F2008 applicant just got their PPR, so this hopefully means at least 1 visa officer is still alive at Buffalo! :) Hopefully now the Easter break is over things will be moving faster at the "slow" offices like Buffalo, London, Accra etc.

It's going to be 6 months on May 22 that my application was received and I haven't got my PER. Based on your experience, does this mean that 1) I'm out of the process or that 2) delays can happen and my application is just waiting for review?

Another thing that bugs me is that I'm seriously worried about the fact that CIO may consider my Bachelor in Psychology (Comparative Studies Service of the Toronto University proved the equivalence of my degree) as insufficient regarding the the rule that Psychologists in Canada have to hold PhD's.

Nevertheless, I made a written compromise to CIO, one that I attached to my application, to pursue additional training in order to meet the higher standards that rule the profession of Psychologist in Canada.

What's your guess about all this?

I'm starting to feel very worried about the outcome of my application.

Thank you guys!

Yes the same guy received my application and I already got my PER, so no need to worry.

What does PER stands for? i thought one should recieve AOR(acknowledgment of reciept". normally how much time does it take to get PER?

Amar12345, Barkat123 & IYNGR_75,

Mumbai RPO's website says that one can renew the passport a year before its expiry......I want to combine name/address change along with the renewal....

Under a normal procedure that can be done but I want to do it under tatkal scheme but I'm not sure whether that can be done before the actual expiry......See the link below - the last part - It says 'After expiry'

http://passport.gov.in/cpv/TatkalScheme.htm

RPO phone line is not helpful and I'm not able to get hold of any agent to do the inquiry......

Hi Jason

I am a professional in Passport issues(since I got five of them).

Now if I remember last time when I visited the passport office (you cannot renew your passport 3 months before they are to expire, not sure if the same rule is still there).

When I went to change the Surname in passport for my wife (they stamped on the older passport and did not issue a new one, not sure if the same goes now).

So first call passport office to know whether a new passport can be issued or not?

Just got confirmation from the Courier services that they had delivered my parcel at CHC... thank god it was dot on time...

Finally... aah...Today morning,I have received my daughter's passport from passport office, will be sending same to CHC right away... as today is last day to submit the documents... though I have requested CHC for extension at the time of submitting RPRF and our passports (PA,Spouse)... Still, will try to deliver her passport today itself. Spoke to courier personal, requested him for express delivery, he is ensuring that the passport will be deliver today before closure of CHC office.

It does sound very concerning, however we have had cases where people have experienced delays getting their PER of 2 to 3 months with no reason whatsoever - so do not lose hope yet!

Firstly, has your credit card been charged/bank draft cashed? If so, then we know your application was received and that it passed the completeness check.

The next step would be to contact CIO to get the status of your application. It may be possible they sent your PER or NER but it landed up in the junk folder of your email account, so this also may be worth checking?

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Thanks... :) :)

Friends :)

I have a backlog of 40+ pages currently, but i cant wait to share my excitement ;) We just sent our passports, RPRF, PCCs to NDVO. They will receive it tomorrow morning.

Fedex refused to take passports in the package, and i told them they just contain original important certificates :P

Hope they reach safely ???

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Bindu,

cases where work experience is limited( less changes) CHC do not have more to check it takes about, 15 -20 days max 30 days as per present processing time. But they extend it to 45 days, if they have more papers to check for authenticity. where it exceeds 45 days then they contact different agencies to get the information.

This trend can also be seen via the tracking sheet / profile / experience of the applicants. CHC has been using lot of agencies and internet to check applicants credit / criminal / work authenticity.
