They are carrying out background checks before going into process.

Once they have done this, they may request new PCCs, new proof of funds, schedule 1 background information and anything else they find lacking.

I think you are absolutely correct on this... my understanding is the same: the VO's are carrying out the background checks/verifications before sending the medicals and changing the eCAS to IN PROCESS

wait for the first new delhi/manila applicant to land, then apply for citizenship after 3 years and then finally get the citizenship. Then Buffalo will send out 2nd AOR :)

My post got buried under some heated discussions.....Plz spare few moments at your convenience to address my concern....

Advice needed - Especially from ND VO applicants

My wife's passport will expire in a year's time but I have the option to renew it now. The passport still has her maiden name and her parents' address. We used her maiden name in the application as the passport still had her maiden name at that time.

Now, the renewed passport will show her name as <Wife's first name My first name My last name> and will have our current address.

In this case, do I have to send the notarized copies of the renewed passport pages ONLY or do I have to send any of the application forms to include the above changes (name and address) ALSO?

Posting this again as I want to finish this ASAP.....

Hi Jason

I am a professional in Passport issues(since I got five of them).

Now if I remember last time when I visited the passport office (you cannot renew your passport 3 months before they are to expire, not sure if the same rule is still there).

When I went to change the Surname in passport for my wife (they stamped on the older passport and did not issue a new one, not sure if the same goes now).

So first call passport office to know whether a new passport can be issued or not?

I applied under FSW2 arranged employment for those currently in Canada. My employer gave me a permanent offer of employment but I was promoted since I applied and now I have a different NOC code/job description. My application is currently at the Buffalo Visa Office, I have not received the second AOR yet. When I emailed Buffalo inquiring whether I should send them my PCCs, they responded that I should wait and not send any documents until they contact me. Should I send a letter explaining the job change along with my contract and my new NOC (which remains within the categories required : A, B or O) or should I wait until I get my 2nd AOR? Whenever that is!!

Please advise.

Thanks :)

At least 26 days (until now). By e-mail and post (obviously first the e-mail). Some people unfortunately haven't receive their PER after months :'(.
I wish you will receive it soon. :)

Hey Odin, I fail to understand how can a VO keep carrying on the checks be it background or security even after sending PP request and especially post encashing yr right of permanent residence fee. That would be absurdly preposterous and highly unlikely in my opinion.

What say others :-\

Preposterous or not ... till there is some clarity from the VOs or CIC explaining what they do exactly from start to finish, it's speculation. Always feel its pointless getting frustrated over things we know nothing about. Of course, easier said than done. :P

I would go to the point and speculate further, whether there exists an SOP to process applications, given all the contrary instructions issued by Mr. Kenny.

And before I forget, a very good morning to you all. :)

Jason,
If you are renewing for your wife from maiden name to new name then anytime you can do that
I started processing before 6 months at the same time old PP got canceled.
To make new PP for her inquiry also has to happen at new address (and her parent address if marriage is < 1 yr)

Thanks

Thanks for the reply and the link.....

I have many reasons
1. I'm still RBVO and I don't know when I'm going to get MR/PPR/PCC/RPRF request - So I want to finish it while I still have time
2. There is a chance that the VO may ask for a renewed passport - April 2012 expiry. Remember they have a habit of holding on to the passports for a long period of time.
3. The passport still has her maiden name and other old details, which I want to change - It will also save me a lot of document/proof related hassles in our country.
4. If everything goes well, I want the visas to be affixed on the new passport rather than the old one.

At the time of applying (Oct'10), I thought we'll be done with the visas within 12 months and I'll still have 6 months to renew the passport..........But that doesn't look like happening as I'm not even 'In Process' as of today.

JasonBourne

When I received 2nd AOR after a week I sent case specific inquiry to ND VO, informed them about the process of PP renewal and told them which I will get it in a couple of weeks (at that time)
After few weeks I got MR/PCC/PPR/RPRF in April, so got PPR even after a month (May'11) is the expiry
May be they didn't looked expiry and straight away asked for PPR or they requested with respect to inquiry which I sent

At any time you have to start making new PP for her before you actually submit the PP 'coz its now < 1yr from expiry and VO won't consider as a valid PP they may ask to renew not necessary before MR but after when you submit PP

Thanks

Finally... aah...Today morning,I have received my daughter's passport from passport office, will be sending same to CHC right away... as today is last day to submit the documents... though I have requested CHC for extension at the time of submitting RPRF and our passports (PA,Spouse)... Still, will try to deliver her passport today itself. Spoke to courier personal, requested him for express delivery, he is ensuring that the passport will be deliver today before closure of CHC office.
