Dr. Qenawyyyy :D I was very happy to see your post.. how are you doing sir? :) & In which processing stage is your application? :)

Hello everyone,

I have applied to CIC in skilled worker category and they received my documents on 30 November,2010.On 8th April,2011 FSW e-mailed me stating that my file has received a positive determination and also mentioned that it will be forwarded to New Delhi visa office soon. It's almost a month since I received that e-mail.So I e-mailed to New Delhi visa office to know if they received my file and they answered that they have not yet received it till 20th April and will send me acknowledgement as soon as they receive it.
Here,my question is how long it usually takes the documents to be forwarded from Nova Scotia to New Delhi visa office and do I need to submit any other document to New Delhi visa office?I am really worried about my process.
Awaiting for quick reply from experienced members.Thanks....

Agree with you totally, Rohan09. My thoughts exactly, but that seems to be the case considering what you can assume is happening with NDVO. Meds done, RPRF & PP sent, however, the time between the AOR and med request seems too short to complete all verifications. Guess they hold on to the money and passport purely to avoid delays in closure by reducing the time it takes to request for RPRF and PP post verification and meds.

Here are my thoughts on this -

1. CIO ER Completed with CIC Canada.
2. Case transfer to the respective VO.
3. VO issues AOR.
4. VO issues Med, RPRF and PP request (Lets assume we got this after bout 10 days of getting AOR)

Now as the eleigibility review has already been done at CIC Nova Scotia, VO shall not start from scratch to ascertain whether the applicant is eligible or not (barring special cases).

Once you receive your AOR there are high percentage of chances that they conduct your background checks like employment details etc at that point in time - AND - before you actually receive Med requests. I believe in a straight forward case, an officer would not spend more than 20-30 minutes on an application. You see very rare applicants receive verification calls at their offices. I have worked with Global as well as small companies, no one gotta call there.

Henceforth after you send your Passport, they are only conducting security checks.

Post encashing your right of permanent residence fee, I strongly believe that they are done with your security checks as well. The only thing is that they do not put your Passports straight away in the Visa Stamping Machine and may wait for some more time for reasons they keep to themselves.

Cheers
Rohan

Thanks for the reply and the link.....

I have many reasons
1. I'm still RBVO and I don't know when I'm going to get MR/PPR/PCC/RPRF request - So I want to finish it while I still have time
2. There is a chance that the VO may ask for a renewed passport - April 2012 expiry. Remember they have a habit of holding on to the passports for a long period of time.
3. The passport still has her maiden name and other old details, which I want to change - It will also save me a lot of document/proof related hassles in our country.
4. If everything goes well, I want the visas to be affixed on the new passport rather than the old one.

At the time of applying (Oct'10), I thought we'll be done with the visas within 12 months and I'll still have 6 months to renew the passport..........But that doesn't look like happening as I'm not even 'In Process' as of today.

Just out of curiosity - if you have a year validity left and assuming you would get your visa within that time, why do you want to renew now rather than renew post visa stamping?

But my consultant told me that you need to send notarized copies of any change you make (job change, marraige, birth of baby, address change et al) - I changed jobs after I applied, I only gave them the revised offer letters and payslips, but dont remember signing any forms.

Hey Vakta

You dont need to submit any other document to the VO unless asked for. Documents normally take a week or two (so I am told) to reach the VO, but your eCAS status will change once it is received by the VO (to RBVO). There is no saying when the status would change, so keep watching your eCAS is what I would say for now, and dont worry (easier said than done, though)!!

Cheers!

Hi Always+ve,

If the DD is not encashed even after 45 days I get depressed by the thought that it might have been misplaced or lost in the pile of documents or the worst case has it been lost in transit, soo many questions with less answers..that's what the confusion is

Bindu

Bindu,

Why do you think that your RPRF Fee is still "NOT ENCASHED"!? ???

Did you come to this conclusion because you haven't yet receieved the receipt from the CHC or is it because your Bank says so?

Thanks,
Knight in Shining Armor!

Get your point. Guess it would be a good idea to apply for a new passport now itself, after all.
