10:12 am in London: The visa officers are bent over our applications, poring through every detail; beads of sweat run down their foreheads as they battle the stress of dealing with another human being's life, their future, their dreams, their hopes and aspirations. The cup of tea on the desk turns colder every second, the biscuits and scones lay untouched. There may be storms or upheavals outside their windows; but they see nothing, they hear nothing; nothing but the sheaf of papers before them, the lives printed out on those pages and their responsibility to be just to them.

Or they could just be sitting around discussing the weather, the royal wedding and the terrible loss of Real Madrid to Barcelona yesterday!!! :P :P
WONDERFUL, Wendy!!! With tomorrow being a Bank Holiday and Monday also, I have a hunch that the tea leaves in the cup maybe the closest thing to a decision made in the VO on Thursday. I am sorry that some of the VOs are so slow compared to the others. It just ISN'T fair!

Thanks Pippin! I'm not expecting anything to happen this week, hopefully next?
Other than that, your comment had me wondering for a moment....do you think they 'read' the tea leaves at the bottom of the cup to decide which application to process next? Hmmmmm.... :P

Hi Pippin,
I agree with you. Some visa offices are very slow and it is really unfair. New Delhi have many applicants as compared to my visa office, but they are still very efficient and fast. I think it also depends on the NOC.

We just have to wait, we have no choice.

If it's any consolation - ACRO who issue the police certificates for the UK don't seem to be doing much either! Last time we ordered them they arrived in 1 week. We're now at 2 weeks and still nothing! It's the last thing we're waiting for before we sent RPRF/schedule 1s and PCCs off to London.

Dear friends, i have this to share:

I was shocked yesterday when i received the 2nd AOR dated 9 March 2011 :o :o :o :o :o :o

This means it took one and a half months to be delivered from one point to another within Cairo?????
!!!!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

-the letter itself is dated 9/3/2011
-it was received at the main post office 15/3/2011
-then was received by the post office of my region 23/4/2011
-and finally reached my house yesterday 27/ 4/2011

I could not believe this hustle.!!!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

What concerns me is that with the letter, they attached labels with new file number and barcode and i was advised to use these labels for any documents to be sent to the VO.
I'm so worried because i have already sent the requested documents on 18/4/2011 without sticking a label
because the letter and labels were delivered to me only yesterday!!! ??? ??? ???

I have sent them an email and also dropped them a letter in their mail box describing the situation but i wonder if they will ever reply?? ??? ??? ???

They said in the letter that this new file number for more efficient processing of the file but still i have to keep my old file number!!!
new number:B059*****
old number: B057*****

Have any one received such labels?

canady

Dear Canady,

It is realy stupid to receive regular post delayed a month and a half within the same city. You should inform the embassy about that in a letter to let them know that their time lines for medicals and document request is hindered by such crap process. No worries about medicals as long as they come by registered post. However I do recomment that you still send them a letter to explain that kinda delay. Regarding the stickers with the file number, I did recieve that with my 2nd AOR from the VO. Do not freak out not sending your documents with such a sticker. They will get to know who you are using the old file number given by CIO. Just once again make sure to send them a letter explainging how rediculous regular posts could be within the country and to let them know that their time lines could be affected by such process.

All my prayers sent to your place :)

Canady,

First, I want to thank you for your kind words in your other message. I look forward to congratulate you and everybody at a later stage of your applications.

Second, I have not received a second AOR at all, nor labels nor B0 file number change. I do not think that they will overlook your sent papers just because you have not included a sticker with a code on it. It may just take a little longer to process. After all, your details with your name and all will be all that count. A family name should do the job to retrieve your file on a computer system or from a shelf!

Try also to remember their usual remark when they send us a letter to allow late delivery of mail before contacting them. It should also apply to your case.

Do not worry too much. It will be processed isA and you'll soon join the club :)
