Dear Mateen,

I have been looking for ages to ask a professional about this.
My blood test result showed high SGPT level (I think 55 in November 2010) since then I have slowed down on drinking and I think it is back to Normal level by now.
But the question is does SGPT level count for medical exams?

Thank you for your advice

Bahman

I think Yes...in CBC they will check it...

Mayank

** BREAKING NEWS from London **

Headline: WE JUST GOT OUR MEDICAL REQUESTS!! :)

Hi all - am very pleased to announce that we got our medical requests today! I popped home at lunch time to check the post, and sure enough the little brown envelope was waiting for us!

In addition for medicals for both of us they are asking for:
- Right of permanent resident fee
- Updated Schedule 1 forms for both of us
- Updated police certificates for both of us

Regarding the PCCs, I assume since ours run out on 17th July 2011 they feel it's cutting it a bit close to the wire, hence why they want fresh ones.

Really puzzled as to why they are asking for new Schedule 1s. The only change is that my company has been taken over and has a new name, but my job and duties haven't changed and we informed them of it.

On the correspondence they sent they gave no indication why they wanted new forms.

Ah well, no biggy :) Just very glad to get the medical requests! We're booked in for 1.30pm next Tuesday for medicals. Just thought I'd let you know asap to give hope to the scores of London applicants waiting - they ARE working!!

Wayne.

CONGRATULATIONS WAYNE... :D :D :D... I am so happy for you... :D :D :D I wish you best of luck with the medicals ... ;)
I was away for the past 2 days and the forum is moving so fast that its really hard to catch up with the pace...

Dear Bahman,
I don't think you need to worry about high SGPT(other name is also ALT) for the migration purpose unless your doctor gets a clue about you having problem in the liver. By the way its high in cases of liver abnormalities and alcohol is one factor that might cause it to rise. But, if the values are normal than nothing to worry.More significantly SGOT (that is also AST) rises in Alcoholic liver disease. If I were you I would quit drinking because it might progress to Alcoholic liver disease as alcohol is toxic to liver. A separate test is done to find out SGPT and is not included in CBC that is complete blood count. Hope it helps.

Dear Moro,

You are very welcomed to the forum. I personally think if you meet 67 points using your IELTS result you'd better send the old one and when you receive your new result send it again to your visa office. But I think there are more experienced friends in the forum who will see your post and answer you.

I wish you luck
