This morning our ECAS status reads "In Process" and we have the following in the detail:


We received your application for permanent residence on August 30, 2010.

We reviewed your application and sent you a letter on December 15, 2010. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on March 15, 2011.

Congrats Wayne, you have zoomed past the line, I am still RVBO. I hope yours would bring me good news soon.

I recently received my PER. In the letter, they ask us to inform them
of any changes in our status. For example, if you get married, you're supposed
to inform them.

Now here's my important questions:

I'm planning to marry in July. Would that affect my application? Might
my PR application be rejected? :'( Does anyone know of an official
answer to this question? ???

I already appreciate anyone with any information on this issue
who can share it here.

The VO in Buffalo gave the following answer to my question about marriage:

Your marriage would only affect your application in that you would have to add your spouse.
Your spouse will have to meet all the statutory requirements whether accompanying you or not.

it was dated 15th March.

but they have not mentioned anything about Date of receiving of application and my NOC, they just said that

I am sorry for your bad news AND the long delay in getting your application package back. In some cases it has taken more than three months so there is still hope it will arrive, but that is little consolation to you right now. Keep checking with your post office. As CIO said it is sent regular post so there is no means to track the mail, but you might ask your post office if they can give you some assistance. I hope that you are able to put together a new application that addresses the problems of the first one. I wish you every success. Good Luck.

Of course, we have yet to see any of these changes translate into anything with substance such as 2nd AOR or med requests but it is encouraging.

Oh you have not yet recieved your letter ! So you must have came to know that your medicals is on the way to you through their call on your phone. Is this true ?
I will be glad to know from you about the letter details when you have a chance to get them isA very soon Maybe you have something to share when you read it that didnt come up through their call. Yes you should be right that the landing fee is the same as the right of permanent residence fee. I will be getting to know this as soonas they reply.

To answer your question, I have to tell you that I recieved my medical request on the 8th of march while I had my 2nd AOR on the 25th of february. It's almost 2 weeks time. But if you refer after they called me, it took them one day to send it by dhl to home address. Regarding the canadian embassy contact number, it is clearly posted on their website and I will make sure to write here to you too. It is 0227918700.
I will be waiting your input as soon as you have the letter from aramex in hand cheers

not even a phone call Amr, it's just e-mail & they are asking me to ask prepaid courier to collect my package from the embassy.

the real problem is that they just gave me 30 days & till i get the medical instructions at least one week will pass.
my question was how long it takes to receive the result of ur medical after doing it with the medical practitioner.

i already called them today but on another number for the visa section but they were very tuff & they asked me to send e-mail or fax.

Congrats! Strange though how with some visa offices the ECAS status changes to "We started processing"... a while after 2nd AORs and/or med requests are issued, with other visa offices the ECAS status has change but still no 2nd AORs or anything yet?
