Thx Advance123 for your reply :) I have no idea why would they ask for it once again. However it was mentioned vague in the line of sentenses of submitting the reciept of payment. Maybe it is included in their format from before. I could tell too that there is a possibility they are asking for an updated one.

Do you have any idea which one is IMM8 because there are 3 of them ?? One is application for permenant residence in canada and the other two are schedule 1 and 3
Dear AMR,
Did they ask for your passeport??

Dear all,

I have received today by DHL the letter from the Visa office in cairo. It has clearly mentioned that I should pay The Right for permenant residence fees. It has also mentioned that there are landing fees to be paid at a later stage. It is my first time to know of the landing fees and no clue about their amount in the letter.
They have stated too that they ask me to do medicals no later than one month from the date of the letter which is dated 8th of march. hmmmm and if I did not submit medicals in 2 months, that will result in refusal.

What is confusing is the amoung of the right for PR fees which is supposed to be 490 canadian dollars. However when you read the method of payment, it offers to pay through citi bank with cash payment in egyptian pounds in an amount that is indicated in a table. This table shows equivalents between 2 currencies and its date nov 2007. The currency exchange does not reflect nowadays rates at all. So I have to either check with the bank if they know of the immigration procedure or send an email to the embassy.

There is another thing that was quite confusing as well. Together with submitting the original fee payment receipt, they ask to submit an IMM8 application. I do not know what is this form and how to submit it. Is it in person when I go there or I should find it somewhere in their site.

This is my latest updates to keep you on the move

Regards, Amr

Dear Moori,

I truly hope that that is your AOR letter, but the fact that the information doesn't match the information CIC has on their web site, especially about fees, is a bit concerning to me. I always get suspicious when people ask for money...

If I were you I would contact VO office and ask for clarification and confirmation. It would be awful if it was some kind of scam...

Again, I truly hope that this is not the case and that this is your AOR, but please don't pay any extra money before you double check!

Good luck and keep us posted!

Come to think of it. Has anybody received correspondence from VO via DHL or any other courier service?

Plus, if I am not mistaken, Moori is the only applicant who received a phone call on his cell before he got his letter by currier...it just seems so extraordinary...

In case for Buffalo, is it the only US office handling PR immigration?

For all applications from Canada, Buffalo is the immigration office - so technically they are handling a more than a single country.

Dear Ira,
No way this is not scam. I have already had my AOR on the 25th of february and today I just recieved this letter asking for medicals and fees. And here it goes when I got a call from the canadian embassy yesterday and they have informed me clearly that they going to send me the letter in a day. I understand your concern about scams specially when we are used to see many emails coming with money stuff :)

Yeah Advance it could be the 3 IMM8 forms and being asked for could be for update reasons.
By the way, the canadian embassy in egypt uses DHL as a courier service. I have had my student permit and passport sent to me from the canadian embassy by dhl :)

You can assess your situation the best! I didn't mean to bring you down in any way, just wanted to give another angle :)

It seems like you are at the very end of the process. I wish you to be the first one with the maple leaf in your passoport!

Good luck Moori :D
