even i also recived a phone call, they wanted to verifi my clinic address an it was on 26/2.

Thanks for confirming this Sukhi, This explains, Employment and other background checks do happen(if they are scheduled to happen for your file), anytime between the Date of issue of the 2nd AOR and the date of issue of the MR for ND VO applicants :)

The security checks will happen concurrently with the medicals as it had been the case with the Pre Juners :)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

OK, now CIC website says Police certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application. But submit to where? CIO or CHC? There is no way to know when CIO would forward application to CHC.

Any clarification on this?

Interesting read:

Future Canadian immigration changes

Canada is expected to update its points based skilled immigration scheme; There will be new English language requirements and higher points thresholds. If you think you may be affected by the changes, it may be best to apply now for skilled immigration to Canada.

Currently, there is no minimum score required under the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). This means that as long as you score at least 67 points overall, you will qualify. However, new rules that will go into effect shortly will create a minimum mandatory IELTS score.

The total points necessary to qualify under the federal skilled worker program are expected to increase as well, from anywhere between 16 and 20 points.

Older people will find it more difficult to gain points under the new Canadian immigration system. Up to age 35, applicants will score more points. Then the points score for age criteria will gradually be reduced up to age 50, after which no points will be awarded at all.

Canada also prioritizes applications based upon the skills needed by the Canadian labour market. When the new changes are enacted, it's expected that the occupations in demand list will also be updated.

HI everyone,

Iam not new here i applied on 0311 in last april. But i have one of my friend that send his application on 3131 as a pharmacist last week and it arrived 7/3/2011,he is worried about he might not catch the caps.

Pharmacists now are 977 in the caps

so could you tell me how long it take it confirm that he is in the caps or not?

Does the file receiving means that he is accepted or they must reviewed before that and how long they reviwe it?

How long does it take between receiving the file and review it and give it the acceptance?

Thanks for your prompt respose

hey there,

So, your friend has to wait a bit, until he hears from the CIO. His app reached the CIO yesterday, and it usually takes a couple of weeks to get the payment en cashed(which is the only indication that his application has passed the completeness check). CIO will not respond to any query on application status, that is not older than 6 weeks(from the date on which CIO received it). So, he will have to wait for sometime ::)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

There are 23 spots yet to be filled as of 7th March, when your friends application was reveived by CIO. I think it should fall within the cap but to make sure, you have to wait till the encashment of payment which happens anywhere between one day to a week after receipt of file, depending on whether he used a credit card or bank draft.

If you have not submitted your PCCs with your application to the CIO, the VO will request for it, usually with the medicals:). There is a deadline associated with it(45 days for ND VO), so i guess it's safe to start the process for those countries which will take more than 45 days, after your ECAS reads, 'Received by Visa Office'. I recommend this only for the recently active VOs like ND, Singapore, Manila etc..

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.
