I have already started a group for people landing in the Toronto region. I believe we are about 15 people. We are hoping to meet in Toronto, every now and then, and help each other with everything we have to go through... from legal docs we need, to employment, to securing a residence, info on schools, etc.

Just to say as well that our status still says In Process and there has been no update since we received PER.
I am a bit sad about this because we hoped to be getting to the VO by this time. Ah, well. I suppose that we will get there eventually.

Congratulations to everyone ho has got their PER recently - I have been overburdened with work and haven't been able to see the thread much at all. I am pleased to see that the timescale for PER is going down again, after the long wait that we had.
Does anyone have an answer to this question - I took up a short term contract in October which will last until Easter ( I am not the principal applicant - only spouse). Do you think I will need to inform CIO or London VO of my change in employment? I was a Supply teacher before and will go back to that again, so there really hasn't been that much of a change really but I just wondered.

IMO send them a case-specific query just to inform them, just incase they do an employment verification check. I did the same because my company name changed. They probably don't care but with us they sent a reply saying they had made a note of it on file and that an immigration officer would look at it. They never replied after that so assume they weren't that bothered, but at least they can't say we haven't told them.
