Congrates to Krislovesau!! Great news from NOC 0631.
hope other VO will come up soon.

This is rather odd. I'm the only one whose application was received by CIO on the 19th of October and the only one that received AOR on the 11th of February.
Am I unique or just plain selfish?

There is a strong suspicion that security/background checks are run concurrently with medicals - so once a visa office decides to start "processing" they are pretty much going to be sending medicals out right away. Obviously with <J26 applicants this was not the case since there was a final eligibility review and selection/admissability to be done.
So I think once people get their 2nd AOR they will get medical requests quite soon.
However, I still suspect that the process will vary slightly from VO to VO and that some offices will simply send out medical requests.

I agree Wayne, it makes sense to run the security checks concurrent with medicals :).

But the background checks need to be done before the medicals requests go out. That has been the case all these years.. Now, they seem to be speeding up the process post June 26 2010, and so decided to do BC, security checks, medicals concurrent :o?

The VO does the background checks - this is employment, education, travel history etc., while the security checks are outsourced :) So, i assume, once the VO is fairly convinced with the documentation, they send out the MR, RPRF, PCC, PPR(Yes New Delhi usually asks for passports along with the medicals)

So, we should expect the first visas to get stamped in April? Obviously from Manila VO?

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Indira, this is truly inspiring, it simply shows that with sheer courage and determination we can achieve our collective dreams. I remember Rev Jesse Jackson once said; ''If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it''.
I wish us ALL, success, we shall achieve it.

NO WAY OF BEHIND IT.
Thanks Naija Pikin to remember again.

Security checks usually take around 30 days, but then one would assume that the process of booking medicals, having the medicals done, and the results going to visa office for processing is going to take the best part of 30 days anyway.

IMO you're probably looking 4-6 weeks after medicals are done for PPR, and another 4-6 weeks after that for visa issue, once again varying from VO to VO. So the fastest visa issues will probably be about 2 months after medical requests - so yes, I think April for the very first visa issues is a good guess.

I think people from Singapore are now starting to receive 2nd AORs so I would expect this to be the next office to start issuing med requests.

Regarding background checks - employment verification is done for only a small % of applicants. Only those with unconvincing documents, and also I think a small % of spotchecks are done to act as a deterrent. It is possible for those with clear, convincing documents that nothing will need to be done here - they will just have security checks and medicals.

Our PCC expires in mid July so would be nice to get the visa by then, although realistically since London is purported to be a slow office we might not even get medical requests until May, or beyond. But new PCCs = about 1 to 2 weeks and £70 for the two of us, so it's not a biggy if we do have to get fresh ones it's just a small delay on the process.

My ECAS status says "In Process"
We received your application for permanent residence on August 16, 2010.

Your application was reviewed and we started processing on February 4, 2011.

I think this is a true "In Process", because VO have obviously sent 2nd AOR on Feb 4th and medicals a few days later. Prior to the recent changes everyone's just said "In Process" and this was obviously inaccurate.

So what people should now expect is when it says "Received by VO" the next stage is "In Process", 2nd AOR issued and the extra line on their status description with the "Your application was reviewed and we started processing on XXX".

Wayne.

So, for our group, is it safe to assume the Status should be,

1. Application received
2. CIO ER Complete
3. Received by VO
4. IN PROCESS
5. Decision Made :0

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

If that is the case what should I assume not having received the 2nd AOR and status "in process" we recd your appln on so and so date and that we have reveiwed ur applna dn started processing on 23rd nov.

Typo error, I meant recd ur appln and started processing on 23rd nov

I am on the same boat as well.

So "uncertain" we r both always positively uncertain as to what is happening with our appln
