Dear Physiocraze, Uncertain, Grasshopper, Positive, Satishman and all other New Delhi Applicants who have received their PER around 23rd and 24th Nov. I can see from the spreadsheet that the ecas status for all of us has not changed and continues to show "In Process". We have been one of the early birds as far as PERs' are concerned.

I can also see Bindu and Rajchandigarh have received their PER's after we have received and that their ecas status has changed to "Received by VO"

Wonder What to understand. I am sure if someone who received his PER on 11th Jan and his ecas status shows "received by VO", New Delhi then even our file should have reached the VO unless we r missing out on something.

Can someone throw some light on it

Regards

It could mean that your applications are really 'In Process' at the VOs already and the security, BCs are being done at the moment. It could be that you receive your med requests soon. All the best!

Sorry, I do not agree here.
The status are changing from 'In Process' to 'Received by VO'. For Post 26/6 the first thing came on CAS was In Process

Dude that would be a major leap of FAITH! I believe guys in New Delhi have gone to sleep for awhile now.

WAKE UP!!!!!!!!

Anyway, the anxiety is killing as to what the "In Process" status actually reflects (nevermind the definitions)

I have got an image regarding In process thing how can I post it here?

Hi Cforcanada

Myself and Shalom1 are having the same problem. It appears that the CIO have changed the menu options at the call centre and you can now only contact them if you are in Canada. There is a recorded message on the CIO number advising to contact the VO directly which obviously doesnt work as you have already tried that. The only suggestion I have if the link posted earlier doesnt work is to send them an email, however dont expect a speedy response as I have been waiting nearly a week now for a response to mine.

Best of Luck

Highlander

I think you can send it to CIO . As there is not time line given by CIC & VO about statement like PCC.

2 week is not big time gap...

Dear gksh07,

The phone number is 001 613 944 4000 but unfortunately they have recently changed the menu of the recorded message and therefore the system does not allow the callers from outside Canada reach the call center agents. :-\

I have just received an email asking me to do General IELTS within 120 days and that my file is still being held at CIO, as opposed to be sent to the VO as indicated in PER 3 months back. While I'm grateful to be given a chance to send additional info/doc, at the same time I am really heart broken to see it took 7 months in total just to tell me this.

Since I applied by myself, I had gone through the OP6 thoroughly before applying and this requirement for 'General IELTS only' was not there until 2-3 weeks after I had send out my application in July. I wish I had not applied so early after the rules changed, rather it was better to have waited 1-2 months more so that they had stabilized themselves with changing rules. Feeling very dissapointed of all these months of wait & hopefulness after getting PER -why would it take 3 months after sending PER to realise this, why coiuldnt they tell this a little earlier? Theres no IELTS date open before March, which means I cant sent it out before end of March. So now I am as good as sending an application in April 2011. I am thankful to be given a chance, but cant help this feeling of being heart broken to be send right at the back of the queue...while I dreamed of landing this year, now it seems my file will hardly reach VO this year :(
sorry if I have spoiled your moods, but feeling really sad

Hi mchowdhury,

My utmost sympathies for this most frustrating and unnecessary delay. IMO if CIC wanted to insist on general IELTS for all >J26 applicants then they should have made this rule very clear from the outset.

It is highly immoral and unfair to introduce a rule after several weeks worth of applicants had applied, and then 7 months later decide to stealth-backdate it to those earlier applicants. Their wording says that applicants will be assessed based on the rules at the time the application was received, they should stick to what they say!

Please do not lose heart. You have had your PER so if you sort the general IELTS test out you will almost certainly get your visa as long as there are no issues with security/background or medicals.

But the extra delay incurred must be frustrating :(

Can I please ask was this visa specialist actually a visa officer from the VO? Or just an immigration lawyer/consultant?

My understanding is that getting another TWP isn't the problem, it's getting another positive LMO. The employer must once again advertise the position for at least 2 weeks in the previous 3 months for it to be granted.

Wayne.

The "specialist" was a CIC visa officer from VO Paris.

Yes, She made it sound real easy but I guess I'll have to check it a little more for the TWP. Also, it would be an additional 1000 CAD for my family...
