dear friends , regardin th E and B file numbers I think all of us both B and E nubmers B refers to the overal status of immigration while E i for the nubmer of those who applied after June 2010.in the PER they mention the E nubmer as far as I have acknowledged.

That is not correct. Many of us have received File # starting from B and we all are post 26/06 applicants.

Thanks Indira....My E-cas status said "in process" a week back...and today whn i checked it said CIO-S eligibility review complete....But this happened almost after 3 weeks after i received my1st PER....So that means that my application was accepted right ????

Very much :) it means your application is accepted for further processing. Leave out the crazy ECAS :P :P. You have the valuable PER:):)

Congrats again, and good luck for your PR soon.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

so Rohan you mean the application number in you PER begins with B? If so, then my inerpretation is wrong

Mine begins with a B too. I discovered this after I sent in an e-mail to inquire status.
Haven't gotten my PER yet and I am an October applicant!

Hello All,
I have been introduced in this forum by my brother, however I never knew such a grate community of people is working for each other. however I had filled my case on 7 th Oct and Fedex POD stated receipt of documents at CIO N on 14th Oct, however I usually checked the Cic website for the updates but was never able to see any thing, I have submitted all my documents including PCC with IELTS and funds statement also. However I have not received any reply from them and I am confused (sorry for offences) but do not know what is PER or AOR?

Details

documents sent on 7th OCT 2010
Recvd at CIO NS 14th OCT 2010
VO NDelhi
NOC 7216
DD encashment don't know if it is encashed
still waiting,
Is there any email address or place I can write to to inquire about the status

Please guide
Regards
Singh

Hi Bro can you guide me at what address to mail at and what details to be provided to know the status of my application?

Thank you everyone!!

This thread and all of you are the major contributors to this leap, I only applied with your help, not through an agency!! :)

Probably, the reason for this very fast process is because I told them I need to take an exam for my profession very soon. I also informed them of the minor changes with my application details like change of bank accounts and change of my husband's employment. :)

My ecas status is still the same, "In process"

did you include a letter of assessmenrt or something i am also a nurse with sec that i need to take in saskatchewan also... what did you tell them thanks

Hi sgcandle,

This is not correct. Most of the applicants on this thread have received a BXXXXXXXXX number and we are all post June 26th applicants. We have not been able to determine the difference between B and E file numbers as yet but both of them are definitely being given out.

hi wen,
International regions have updated their system. CAIPS is no longer used for the file retention but GCMS. Thats why, new files numbers are starting from E or F.
There is no legal issue in this.
Most of visa offices already shifted to GCMS.

The Global Case Management System (GCMS) is a multi-year program that will replace several aging, archaic and incompatible core business systems of Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA). The GCMS is an essential secure technology platform upon which to build a modern, global, integrated, information-based solution that will strengthen program integrity, improve efficiency and enhance client service delivery.

GCMS will establish the next-generation business operational environment, and improve flexibility to adapt to future legislative and major program initiatives (e.g., biometrics). GCMS will also facilitate communications and data sharing with the CBSA and with our other partners for the purposes of administrating the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA).

Project Phase: Building on the success of the first deployment of the GCMS in 2004 (the Citizenship Release), the project undertook a re-evaluation of strategies for completion and prepared a revised go-forward plan which reduces risk and delivers considerable business value.
Lead Department: Citizenship and Immigration Canada
Participating Agency: Canada Border Services Agency
Contracting Authority: Public Works and Government Services Canada
Prime Contractor: None (The Department is responsible for system integration.)

Regards
sgcandle
