I very much doubt it, Tuesday is almost set in stone as their update day. But we can live in hope :)
Wayne.

I have to disagree - I received my PER and my status changed on a Thursday (no doubt on this one), I mentioned this earlier, over joyed that they were working overtime :D

Well I will be happy to be proven wrong once ECAS is back up. I hate seeing that "Application received -> Medicals received" rubbish with nothing in between! :)

I'd settle for accurate, detailed updates once per week.

Something like: -

- Your payment was cashed on XXX
- Your application received a positive final eligibility review on XXX
- Your application was sent to the visa office on XXX
- Your application was received by the visa office on XXX
- We began processing your application at the visa office on XXX
- We sent you requests for medicals on XXX
- We received your medical results on XXX
- We requested your passports on XXX
- We received your passports on XXX
- A positive decision was made on your application on XXX
- Have a nice day

You can show proof of funding from any number of bank accounts, as long as they are in your name, or in the name of a spouse if the spouse is accompanying you to Canada.

For each bank account you will need to include at least 3 months' bank statements to prove that the money belongs to you and that you are not just borrowing it from someone. Some visa offices prefer 6 months so you may wish to check with other users who have applied via the same visa office as you.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Wow Is that so ??? I did not know. All I sent for proof of funds was a letter from bank stating my account details and balance.
You think I can get denied for that reason ??? Or is something the VO can require later on ?
Oh my completeness check I think it was done, since I got my card charged... Does that means my letter is enough proof of funds ?

Thanks.

UPDATE:
I did some more reading on my VO specific Proof of Funds Req here :
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/E37106.pdf and looks like I might be ok ...
"...
Provide proof of unencumbered and readily transferable funds in a convertible currency available for settlement in Canada (for you and your family members):
•current bank certification letter; or
•evidence of savings balance; or
•fixed or time deposit statements.
..."

I just find it hilarious that they probably spent hundreds of thousands on the ECAS database (most likely using Oracle) and they can't even work the damn thing right ;D

LOL....and our friend would be eternally grateful just to have CIO OPEN his application one day!!! I am just hoping that all you front runners will get the kinks ironed out so those who get their applications in later on will fly through the process and catch up! Wasn't the new Global System supposed to replace ECAS in April?

They won't reject you straight away for it but visa office will probably ask you for statements. Otherwise it would be very easy for someone to borrow the money, get a bank certificate, and return the money within a matter of days, and this is what they are trying to avoid, they want to be convinced that this is your money.

I think their operation manual says if they are not satisfied initially with proof of funds they will write to you and ask for further documents.
