Hello all,

First of all, thank you Wayne for your blog, this is very helpful and greatly appreciated.

I have tried to check the status of my application (sent on 23 Dec) on Ecas. I used an 8 digit number with a dash that I saved after my first application was returned to me (wrong CC number). So as I said, I kept two numbers that were written on the papers an 8 digit number with a dash between the 1st four and the 2nd other four numbers. And there was also another number that starts with an X.

the Ecas status with the 8 digit number says: (quote)

We were not able to identify you using the information you provided. There could be three possible reasons:

•Please be sure the information you entered is correct and then try again.
•This service is only available to clients with applications in process. We may have received your application but not yet begun processing it. The following link may help you determine if your application is being processed...

Do you think I am getting this response because it is too early for me to check in my status?

Thanks for your help guyes!

hi kim..i know what u are goin thru' as the same situation here...

I think we are a little safe with completeness check as our BD encashed... :) as I was going thru' the spreadsheet and noticed that those with incomplete applications, it was returned mostly before encahment...

only those with insufficient points or work experience were returned after encashment.....

these are my assumptions and I just think of this to make me feel better...people may think otherwise....

keep up the high spirits people...

thanks
ash

Thanks for sharing your opinion and also,it is my assumption also, the way I look at it!That's why,i really thankful about this website..thanks and plus 1 for you..

Hi bknbr,
I would say that your completeness check is over and you have passed it. People who have failed in completeness check have failed it within a week or two after CIO received it. So you can draw that conclusion. I will still suggest you to chase your bank and get that confirmation.
Cheers

Thanks dear... hope that I will receive my PER by March End...

It clearly showing that people are feeling difficulties in applying for immigration, therefore Canadians authorities should make changes and relaxations in their immigration process,at present it is simply impossible for a person to apply for immigration who is not having any relative in Canada.

Hi Akrum66,

I have to disagree, it may be difficult for people who do not have relatives in Canada but it is not impossible. Without relatives in Canada one would have to focus on educational qualifications and IELTS scores, otherwise a job offer would be very helpful. I know several people who have immigrated without relatives there and I myself have just a few friends in Canada.

Nobody should ever give up, just look for ways to make their dreams come true.

Agreed Wenstumped :) Nothing can stop you, unless you stop yourself :)

My cousin is in Toronto, but we can't claim points for that :(.. but still we managed to get to the 67 points.. and yes, we have more than a handful of friends(including FMA) there, to help us get settled :)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

You are partly true, wenstumped. The thing is,say for example of a welder, a welder will not have a very high education. He would have done a welder's technical course after school. His IELTS score also may be weak as higher education improves your english. (this is if the welder is not from England or so). This keeps adding and so it becomes difficult for these people to get the requisite points. As per some post earlier, they seem to be making this requirement more stringent in coming years, which will make it even more difficult for professions such as welders, plumbers, etc to get enough points, especially if they do not have relatives in Canada.

I have to disagree with this. I do not have any relatives in Canada but should score 95 points (self-assessment.) Language skills, education and a job offer should do the trick...(touching wood)

Even a person having Master Degree,IELTS 7.0 SCORE,Experience of 20 years, even then he will need score 0f 5 points due to his relative for compliance of 67 marks.

Hi Akrum,
No, i dont agree with this now. I have a masters degree, my wife has a masters degree, i have a IELTS score of 7.5 and 15 year experience. The last time i calculated my points, ther were well more than 70. I dont have any relative in Canada and i have got my PER.
I will suggest you to not post the same thing again and again. This makes the forum unnecessarily longer.
Cheers

i disagree - i have a relative in Canada but i can't get points for him in my application. My IELTS score is 7.0 i have 8 years of experience and my self assesment gave me 70 points. We should also remember that the numbers above are not applications with positive eligibility review but only applications after completness check.

I agree Kolhapuri, blue collar professionals will have a harder time getting the 67 points; educational qualifications in most cases may not be sufficient; but then again they can work on the English skills to improve them sufficiently to get a score of 6 or 7 in IELTS, even if it takes a longer period of time. I doubt these NOCs will disappear next year, especially since there are barely any applicants this year. I do agree, however, that for such professionals a job offer is very important and could be the difference between a PER or NER. Still, it is not impossible.
