Applications after 26/6 in any NOC CONNECT HERE TO GET THE STATUS

Dear Friends,
I have one question regarding passport specification. I got my passport in 2005 and is valid until 2015 and my passport has only one line for the full name in the biographic page. But what I see in the forum is that when CHC ask for passport PPR they specifically tell the passport biographic page needs to have 2 lines separately , one for surname and other for given names ? Does any one have the same kind of passport as mine with only one line for the full name . What to do with this kind of problem? Any one of you know any one from India or Nepal getting visa in the old fashioned passport like mine. Thank you hope you all will add your view here.

Hi Pratik,

I think thats will not be a problem for us who have old fashion passport. I have seen many of bangladeshi passport holder landed in canada in last year have same type of passort you mentioned. So dont worry for that. As there is no specific guideline in application form or instruction from immigration website of CIC for biometric passport, we can still use our passport due to vaild in our own country.

Don't worry harjot..you're not alone there..i'm in same situation.. we can do this..

Beware that most of the consultants will get you signing up even if you have academic IELTS. Please guys read the CIC manuals thoroughly before sending in your applications. Save yourselves lost time and hassles.




And btw... still waiting response from New Delhi VO.

some thoughts on the ongoing General IELTS requirement thing -

I went through the updated OP6 - from the 2nd page onwards, it lists the updates they have done to this documents from time to time. It seems,
On April 01, 2010: they updated that both Academic & general IELTS will now be accepted.
On July 26, 2010: they updated that results of IELTS must not be more than 1 year old and and that only General IELTS (for erading & writing) will be accepted.
On August 04, 2010: they updated that any other written evidence of language proficiency will not be accepted for applicantions submitted on or after June 26, 2010 (that is, applicants must provide results of an approved test)

So, do we consider that applicants before July 26, 2010 (pls note, not June 26) can provide Academic as well as General and those submitting afterwards should only provide general IELTS?

Nope. "harjot" has just got General training IELTS request from CIO though his application was received by CIO on 19th July(received his PER on 24th Nov)
