Good luck for the IELTS Chima :).
Does this indicate that they have laid hands on the applications received upto 27th Oct?
Thanks,
Indira Prabhakaran.

I think they have a guy on the IELTS job. He is fishing thru the apps and locating Academic IELTS and then sending the 'additional info' request.
Thanks

Hi - any news from Rina? Last post was 14th January wondering if she got PER yet?

Wayne.

Dear Friends,
I have one question regarding passport specification. I got my passport in 2005 and is valid until 2015 and my passport has only one line for the full name in the biographic page. But what I see in the forum is that when CHC ask for passport PPR they specifically tell the passport biographic page needs to have 2 lines separately , one for surname and other for given names ? Does any one have the same kind of passport as mine with only one line for the full name . What to do with this kind of problem? Any one of you know any one from India or Nepal getting visa in the old fashioned passport like mine. Thank you hope you all will add your view here.
Hope to see your message. Any one has same problem as mine , please share what to do?

You haven't asked the reason yet. Those who have decided not to pursue probably doesn't just waste money and time, it is with for a reasonable cause.. In my situation, I also got a very irresistible offer in New Zealand this coming July but asking the question above, doesn't mean I am not serious with my application in Canada, its just that I haven't decided yet which to pursue. I am in the verge of a dilemma right now because I don't want to say to myself some day that I should have chosen the other one.. :(
I don't know why anybody should be angry if some people choose to change their minds about settling in Canada. Having been to Canada, I wonder how many people on this forum would still be interested in staying there after arriving. Many people on this forum have moved from their home countries to the UK, Australia etc and are now planning on moving to Canada. Should the people who are hoping to move to the UK, Australia etc be angry that they are clogging up the system? Peoples reasons for wanting to emigrate or not is personal and diverse. What is fundamental is self fulfilment not what other people think.

Decide for yourself as it benefits you and make the best choice for yourself and your family whether it clogs up the process to Canada or not.

I don't think Canada will accept any passport that is not biometric. Western nations have all changed their systems and without the biometric details they can not be sure who you are.

That's an interesting point, Indira. It's more than a month ahead of time...........

Well, it may b possible that, for the time being, CIC is quickly checking IELTS thing only........since few such cases have popped up......so that they can shelve some applications -- hence less processing burden........ but it's also unlikely (though possible) that all those in between Sept. end and Oct. 27th have submitted IELTS GEN and hence not heard anything yet.....

Did anyone between these dates submitted IELTS ACAD?? That wud giv some idea.....

Also, a suggestion to everyone:
If you are quoting anyother poster in your message, please trim down the long messages so that we don't have to navigate through more number of pages everyday.........
I was also thinking of suggesting PMing congrats posts........but then thought, let the positive energy/words of encouragement flow.........

CONGRATS to all PER receivers......and gud luck to all those awaiting.....

a bad news from me.after waiting for 125 days today i got NER. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(below is the content of that

"The information that you provided was reviewed. These letters do not specify your main duties.

As such, I am not satisfied that you are a 6241 – Chef or a 6242 - Cook.

Your application, therefore, does not meet the requirements of the Ministerial Instructions".
now Wayne what should i do. pl guide me.is there any way of appeal.

Hi.

I am very sorry to hear about your NER.

But if you provided insufficient work experience evidence then I am afraid there is no way of appealling this. The visa-office specific checklists are very clear regarding what needs to be in the reference letters. The CIO operative will be using an operations manual when they do the eligibility review and it will tell him/her that they will need to satisfy themselves that you have performed a substantial amount of the duties on the list, and this needs to be backed up by supporting evidence from your employers.

Your best chance, if the NOC limit is not yet full, is to get sufficient supporting evidence from your employers (or former employers) and then re-apply.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

OH MY GOD!!!! I'm away for two days, just TWO DAYS, and there is an explosion on the forum!!! I couldn't believe my eyes when I signed in and saw over 20 new pages.

First off, congratulations to everyone who have received their PERs, all the best for the rest of the process as well.

Secondly, a very special congratulations to Queencougar. I am so glad you have finally received the PER, I know how eagerly you have been waiting for it and I can't even begin to imagine how stressful the last few weeks have been for you. I hope in all honesty that everything else goes through quickly and easily and soon you and your husband will be looking back and laughing about this is Canada.

Third, sorry to hear about the NERs that have come through but please, never give up. If this is something that you really want then maintain laser like focus and do all you can to get yourselves to Canada as soon as possible.

And finally.....I'm really surprised to see the IELTS requests, especially for people who have already got their PERs. On a more positive note though, you have all already cleared the academic version so the general should be a walk in the park. All the best to everyone.

Glad to see the CIO have started issuing the PERs again, I guess they devoted the last 2 weeks for NERs and also to recheck the IELTS for all applicants. Makes me wonder if that means that CIO still has all of our applications with them and haven't sent ANY to the VOs as yet. Any ideas?

ahisvet, goherd. irg , maani1985, pnpvsfsw, Triumph, Kolhapur and specially to the long waiting time applicant " Queencougar " Congratulations and also to whom I ever missed

Cheers :)

They actually review applications before the issue of AORs. They are probably into the review of December applications by now. I believe the lack AORs last week was due to staff shortage brought upon by the weather. They probably directed their staff to focus on reviews and only began to issue AORs etc yesterday when they were better staffed hence the number of responses.

Looks like the case.....Dr. W also got the IELTS GEN request.....Oct. 22nd applicant.....

Applications have been sent to the VOs but won't be acknowledged until they are ready to process. The VOs will do detailed checks where it is needed and will request more information if required. In most cases, they will only request medicals. When depends on backlog and priority applications.

That's exactly what I think. It is better that way, rather than holding on the applications for months only to turn back to the applicants after initial initial PER had been given. The positive side for those who have been requested to retake the IELTS is that, if they have scored high enough point on the academic test, then they should be ok for the general test or maybe even get more points.
