No doubt about it, Midoo, this is great news for you because it tells you that they have definitely thoroughly checked your file. If there was anything else wrong you can bet they would have sent your file back or told you about it. They would not waste their time asking for the IELTS if here was something else missing or incorrect.
So, just put your plans back a month or two, do the General Test and get a good result to them to be assured of a positive review.

Could someone update our entry, please? -

Don't panic. The CIC is not as harsh as many assume here. The reason they are doing this scheme is in order to attract immigrants not to turn them back. Be sure that your file has been positively assessed. The only thing left is the IELTS so go do it, submit then await your VISA. The instruction they gave you is to assure you that you are not resumitting just adding to your file. My Rep has informed me that you can add anything to your file once you have a file number. Stop worrying.

Wayne,

thats indeed a good news. otherwise(If application is returned) Applicants need to reapply n there is always a chance of missing the CAP and the pain of resubmitting.

Few unlucky applicants received their papers back just for small issues like missing Birth certificates...

Wayne, You have guided us all through bad times n you are indeed one of our Hero's because of whom we could do the application work on our own..

Wish n Pray for your safe n happy landing .....

Regards
Destined.

Hi Punter and Midoo

Ok I am glad you are both being given an opportunity to submit an general training IELTS exam. Your place in the "queue" in your NOC cap is still held, and IMO if there were any other reason why you would not pass the eligibility review they would not ask for this test, they would simply send a NER.

So I think this is good news in that you should expect to be able to get a PER after you have submitted fresh IELTS results. 120 days should be enough time to book a test, get the results and mail them to CIO.

In response to Punter, as far as I am aware since June 26th 2010 the ONLY acceptable IELTS test results are the General Training ones. Just because CIO were lenient with earlier applicants it does not mean that people are correct in submitting Academic tests when only General are acceptable according to the instructions on the checklist and on the cic website.

But like I said I am very glad you have the opportunity to submit new IELTS tests since I think you are definitely going to get PER after you have done so.

Best of luck,
Wayne.

Hi Guys,

Please remove my name from the tracker.Gotta NER.

Myexpereince was not supported and convincing forthe VO from the offer letter and relieving letter.they wanted to have a reference letter specifying clearly the roles and responsibilities, which I tried to get but no one provided from the company.

Unfortunately,no one fromHR supports in providing roles and responsibilities in here.

Any suggestions from the sucessfulNOC1122 guys?

Hi there ,
I am sorry to hear about your NER. I think you should not rely on others when making your emigration papers, especially HR departments. I suggest for future you make your own reference letter, specify all the responsibilities you had/need for that specific NOX and THEN bring that to HR or to a direct supervisor you had in the company. I am sure they can stamp/sign it and you will be good to go, with a dream reference letter.
Best of luck to you!

Hi guys,

Can you please update my info on the spreadsheet. My CC was debited today 19/01/11. My application was received at the CIO on 12/01/11

Now the wait for PER beings :)

@ Wayne.

You sound very much naija.
Am I right?

as far as i know,,, diplomatic bags are sent to VO to diff. countries on a weekly basis..they are tied up to the flag carrier airlines which is distributes documents inside the diplomatic bag...so maybe there is another reason why VO doesnt recieve yet applications..thank you

So they are indicating that they will send a notification once they get the paper file, but they are saying that after 2 months since you received your PER they have still not received the paper file from CIO?

I find it incredible that it could take that long.

My only thoughts is that they are stockpiling applications, possibly not at CIO but in Ottawa where their diplomatic courier base is, waiting for there to be a big enough batch to send to visa office.

It's possible that they may only be sending "batches" every couple of months or so?

Wayne.

what is naija ???

Hi, Yesterday, I quoted the phrase "initial assessment" and asked the forum members idea on what do they mean about it. My own interpretation here is:

1) That they already computed our score to reach 67 points or more that is why they gave us 120 days to comply.
2) The other one is that they simply checked our papers and noticed the academic ielts then sent us the email. The catch on this is that you may have the 16 points ielts score but since they havent assessed you there is a chance that you might not reach 67 based on the documents you submit and eventualy get a NER.

Now, to prove this 1st theory, we have to know if somebody with academic ielts got an outright rejction or an NER rather than asked to comply 120 days just like ours. Otherwise it is just a standard message sent to all who submitted the academic ielts.

I dont think that they based the acceptance of academic ielts on an applicants NOC. Because my NOC is a regulated profession and would require me to take the academic ielts again if i took the GT before. BTW, I took the academic ielts in dec 2009 coz I saw an ad before employing doctors for canada but after I submitted my papers to them, they told me that it was just for pooling purposes and offered me to work in the ME instead which I declined coz i cant stay away from my wife and kids that long. Anyway, the sad part here is there is no more slot for the GT module this january and the earliest would be on feb 12 and I booked it yesterday. I remember last year, on this same thread that somebody advised me to take the GT module while waiting, so that when my application is returned I will be able to send it back immediately but I did not followed his advise. Anyway, no regret at least we've tried and the good thing is our papers were retained at their possession and just asked us to comply.

To Punter and Midoo, goodluck with your IELTS GT module exam.

Hi midoo,

I am happy for you that finally the CIO has made a review status on your document, and personally,I can say that you are lucky that CIO decided to give you another chance because I know someone here in the Philippines, that she got refusal for sending Acad-Ielts.I don't know the exact detail in what month she sent her document to CIO(PostJune). Then, the most difficult part, our NOC reached the cap limit.

God bless and Good luck for the Exam!

Cheers!!!!
