Just noticed I have also been given a -1 rating, I havent even posted anything of interest yet, just the details of my encashment. Must have been the phantom poster giving out negatives!
Thanks, Highlander2010!
And there's a positive for being so nice and to prove that good things come from kind words. ;D

Be calm, cforcanada ad others in the same position i.e. having received PER and needing to submit their Police check certificate at some point.
The old rules 120 day e-mail was a request that was made by the Visa Office when they were ready to process your file and that gave you 120 days maximum to submit all the docs required on the list.
This is now obsolete, as everyone sends everything at the start. The PCC only has this confusion because of the small window of time where CIO were telling applicants not to send it and their subsequent advice telling applicants to include it if they could but it was not essential. The widely held view is that this was to ensure that those whose countries are slow at providing Police certificates were not unfairly disadvantaged in the race to get in before the cap closed, which was very fair and kind, I think.
Nobody under the new rules is going to be rejected through being "timed out" on providing this document until the Visa Office has contacted them to ask for this document. They will then tell you how long you have got to submit it. Sending documents to the VO without being asked is inviting the possibility that it will be lost in the system.
Wait until they contact you to request it, then send it.
If your country is likely to be very slow to issue a police check, you will have to judge when to request it based on how long you think your country will take to get it to you. The police check must be no older than three months when the Visa Office receive it.

Hey thanks so much for this info :)

New week of work again is coming our way, I hope that the person handling mine, Rina and queencougar would finalize his work and send us our beloved PER...Good luck to us and congratulations to all PER receiver last week.

Many thanks to Cur-Rozen,Viktoria and Pippin for your valuable replies.
Now I am waiting for my PER/NER within Feb (finger crossed it will be a PER).
If i get NER,I'm gonna resubmit it again and hope my cap(3131) still have a quota for me.

Hi, First of all congrats to all those who have received their PER and best of luck for them who are in the process.

It's been 3 months for CIC to received my application. As per the tracking (a wonderful work) I understand it is now taking nearly 120 days (4 months) to receive PER
Should I email CIC about my application status? after all I am eligible now to contact them to know my application status. Are they provide any important information via email?

Could you please help me out whether it would be formality or necessary to send email for the application status after 3 months, also give me the CIC email address plz.

Thanks
-Barkat

Barkat: if your fees have been cashed and you have not gone significantly past the 120 days that it is taking most people to get PER, then it will not provide you any information you do not already have. Perhaps best to wait until that time has passed as you will probably be smiling from ear to ear by then anyway! Good Luck.

HI ALL,

PLEASE HELP............. :o

MY APPLICATION WAS RECEIVED BY CIO ON 21/10/2010 AND TILL NOW (15/1/2011[/b]) I DID NOT HEAR ANYTHING FROM THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!

ANY ONE HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE???

THANKS,

hey there.

even my application was received on 21st oct. and even i havent heard anything from them. has your bd encashed??

hey guys.

my application was reached on 21st oct 2010 in noc 1122. havent heard anything from cic so far. the big worry is that my BD is not yet encashed. but on the other hand many people who applied after me have got their application returned for cap filled or any other reason. but i have not received even rejection on any ground or any other communication. and i really am apprehensive to send a email to check the status. i want to do it only after 120 days.

i am again going to bank today to check if my BD is encashed.

Please pray for me that i get a good news that the BD has been encashed. That will surely be relief for me.

Thanks to all in advance.

When I spoke with CIO over a week ago, they said they were opening applications up to 13 September, so it wil lprobably be a while yet for October. You are well within the timelines and there is no reason to believe a problem exists, especially if you have proof of delivery to CIO and your fees get confirmation of fees being cashed. Those who have used BD for their fees have had to be persistent with their banks in order to get the information they requested. Good Luck and hang in there.

hi nish, i also applied in October and until now i have not received any word from the CIO. The only silver lining is that my credit card was charged less than 2 weeks after they received my application. You should really find out from your bank re your BD since this is a strong indicator that your application is being processed. Moreover, just keep checking this forum since this provides a very good timeline of what's happening to all our applications.

hope this helps :)

Indira: Based on my experience, I think as the wife of the PA and named in the application you would have no trouble getting the information. Note, I said "think".....

Thanks Pippin :). I'll give another month for the CIO to confirm the status of our application, hope i will not get a chance to call them ;)
