Congratulations Raj, thanks for the good news today. ;D

Again, I would recommend that only applicants who received their PERs in November contact the VOs. Their numbers are sufficient to wake up the VOs and give us all the information we require.

Wayne, I doubt the VO will reply to you when you send them the updates about your employer. They've clearly stated on the website that they will contact applicants only if there is a serious problem with the application, right now I think contacting the VO is the only option we have to clear up the confusion. :)

They state very clearly in the PER:

"Please inform the visa office of any changes in your application (e.g. birth or adoption of a child, marriage or common-law relationship, new occupation or employer, submission of an Arranged Employment Opinion approved by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, change of address, change of e-mail address, change of immigration representative, etc)."

So they have explicitly instructed us to contact them in the PER!

I am quite happy not to contact them, but in the unlikely event they run a verification of employment for me, the spouse, I do not want there to appear to be any discrepancies.

Congratulations Raj....I Am sure you must be feeling so relaxed.

I had a feeling that emails from CIO might directly go into the spam mail...so I asked for sender's information and subject line on the email.

Yours is I guess the second case in this thread....where email went into spam folder.

Dear members plz keep checking your spam emails as well....u never know..

Hi Wayne, I agree that you do have to inform them of any changes, in fact it IS a MUST. What I meant was that they will not reply to you when they receive the updates, they are going to receive it, add it to your file and that will be the end of it until they contact you for the medicals. Here is the quote from their website:

…confirming receipt of documents and bank drafts: In order to best use our resources, we will not confirm whether we have received your documents. If you would like such confirmation, you can send your documents by registered mail. If you would like confirmation that we have processed your bank draft, you can contact the bank that issued the draft.

…an application in process:

If you already have an application at our office, we will answer your question only if our average processing time has been exceeded or if there is a problem. Otherwise, you should assume that your file is proceeding normally. Processing time starts when your complete application has been received in our office and ends on the day the final decision (i.e. approval/refusal) leaves our office.

Citizenship and Immigration provides an on-line service to check your application status, e-CAS, for certain categories of immigration applications.
