in addition, if BD is not encashed then does that mean you will be receiving a NER?

Not really. BD encashment just means that the application has passed the completeness check, the first stage. If there is no news on encashment, it means it's either encashed and not properly updated by the bank, or it failed the completeness check and is on it's way back :(.

It's not that a successful completeness check will guarantee a PER or otherwise..

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

pls add me to the list..i gave my details yesterday..thanks

hi please add me too in the spreadsheet. I already gave my details yesterday but nevertheless here it is:
NOC: 1122
VO: Manila
Payment made through BD (don't know yet if it was encashed or not)
Date of complete application sent to CIO: Sept. 21 but was received Sept. 27 as per tracking details of the courier.
Status: haven't received yet any feedback from CIO to date. thanks much

I think it's fascinating that CIO calculate all the points now, really does mean all the V.O. does is Medical Requests, Background Checks and Passport Requests. CIO has reduced their workload considerably.

Shame we had to find this out from a rejection email though...

Hi Robin,

I was just wondering why weren't ....

"You have not obtained sufficient points to satisfy me that you will be able to become economically established in Canada"?

You did not submit proof of funds? Or did you, but not within the required amount?

Hello Canadajimmy... and the rest of the seniors.....

What would Background Checks mean? What are they doing at this stage? What Background are they trying to check?

Dear Robin,
As many colleagues here mentioned, you have two chances to appeal for your case. One of them in your hand completely which is to try the ielts exam for a better performance in some of its parts which i know is not easy but yet in your hands :) The other chance will be some kind of paper work and explaination with a good cover letter to put points into lines. If i were you, i would go for both chances by appealing first hand for my education in a professional letter while studying and applying for ielts as soon as possible. Best of luck :)

Dear queencougar,
It could possibly mean a lot for you when you are delayed that much while you were awaiting your PER even before it was close to your door. I share you the same worries and i am curious to see your PER either tommorow or the day after tommorow or so close to this date. However, just be quite sure that the possibility of getting a postive eligibility for you is far much higher than the contrary. From this point of view, you are invited to celebrate your close coming PER with all enthusiazm and cheers :)

Just whether you're on any terrorist / criminal watch lists, etc. and according to what someone said a while ago it's done by the CSIS.

hi everyone!i'm a regular visitor to this forum.i have sent my application on dec 8,2010. now, i need to email CIC. i can't read back, i tried, though, but can't find the posted email ad of the office.can anyone here share the email add of CIC where you can make queries of your application.thanks everyone!

hello everyone.

my question is related to that of crissy.

i want to send email to cic inquiring about my application status. But the problem is that i have filed the application through a consultant and he has put his email address in the application.

do i need to send inquiry from the email id in the form, and if i send the inquiry from my personal email id, will i get reply to my id or the id mentioned in the forms.

Crissy: You will find the information in the CIC Website. A new email protocol has been set up recently. I don't know if you will get a response unless your application was received more than 6 weeks ago. Good Luck.
