Hi Robin,

Please take a new IELTS and try to get better score. You can easily meet the 67 points. Just improve score in writing and reading section to 6.5 which is not so much difficult. Just concentrate your mind.

Hi Robin,
Sorry to hear your mail but don't you think there might be a way to write them and explain about the total duration spent in the university. BTW , did they assign you any file number starting with B------?
Wish you will make through.

i am curious about Bank draft or any kind of payment and my question, just in case your application will be deny, thus it follow that your bank draft will not be encash?

As of now,I can not get any info about the status of my bank draft, but however,I am waiting with the reply from CIO about the status of my application.

Any ideas guys,thanks!

hi kim.. My application also was received by CIO on (09/11/10), FSW1. I enquired with them regading my application and this is what their reply was:

Your submission is currently under review by our office. You will be contacted in due course. (after quieing almost 5X then they replied).

I checked with the bank about my DD - cannot tell whether cashed or not.

so pliz do tell me what their reply is.... :o

Hi Robin, I think you can certainly appeal for your case but I think it would be a great idea to take a new IELTS test in the mean time. As per their mail you are falling short by just 2 points, so you have 2 options: appeal to them to recheck your educational qualifications or better your IELTS score, either way there is a very high chance of success for you so go for it.

ash ali, 9th of NOV means you still have a good wait ahead of you since mid sept applicants are receiving their PERs at the moment. Please refer to the spreadsheet to get a rough estimate of the timeline.

Cam, I thought the points were checked during the completeness check to make sure the applicant qualifies. Am I wrong? ???

All the best to everyone hoping for PERs today. ;D I predict a deluge!!!

Dear Sir:
I have now completed the assessment of your application for a permanent resident visa as a skilled worker. I have determined that you do not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada.
Subsection 12(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) states that a foreign national may be selected as a member of the economic class on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada. Subsection 75(1) of the regulations prescribes the Federal Skilled Worker class as a class of persons who are skilled workers and who may become permanent residents on the basis of their ability to become economically established in Canada.
Pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, 2002, skilled worker applicants are assessed on the basis of the requirements set out in subsection 75(2) and the criteria set out in subsection 76(1). The assessment of these requirements determines whether a skilled worker will be able to become economically established in Canada. The criteria are age, education, knowledge of Canada's official languages, experience, arranged employment and adaptability.
Your application was assessed based on the occupation(s) in which you requested assessment: NOC 6242. The table below sets out the points assessed for each of the selection criteria:

You have obtained insufficient points to qualify for immigration to Canada, the minimum requirement being 67 points.
You were assigned 15 points for your educational credential at the Non-University Certificate level. This was based upon the one year Diploma of Hospitality Management from The Illawaara Business College.
You were assigned 10 points for your official language proficiency; Listening 7.0- 2 points, Reading 6.0- 2 points, Writing 5.5- 2 points, Speaking 7.5- 4 points. No points were assigned for your second official language.
No points were assigned for arrangement employment.
You were assigned 9 points for adaptability as follows: You were assigned 4 points for your accompanying spouse's educational credential. This was based upon the two year Diploma from the National Institute of Engineering – Electrician Diploma. You were assigned 5 points for your Family/Relative in Canada.
You have not obtained sufficient points to satisfy me that you will be able to become economically established in Canada.
Subsection 11(1) of the Act states that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or for any other document required by the regulations. The visa or any other document may be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act. Subsection 2(2) specifies that unless otherwise indicated, references in the Act to “this Act” include regulations made under it.
Following an examination of your application, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and the regulations for the reasons explained above. I am therefore refusing your application.
There are many ways to immigrate to Canada. To learn more about your options, visit http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/index.asp.

Thank you for the interest you have shown in Canada.

Hi Robin,

I feel sorry about this but the good thing is your NOC is not full and you still have chances to get the PR before end of this year :):).

All you have to do is just try to gain some extra points in the IELTS and there's nothing to stop you becoming a PR :P :P :P.

I'm not sure about how successful your appeal against the education points would be, but there's a very easy alternative - IELTS..

Good luck for your resubmission :) We are with you :)

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Hello all,

Thanks to everyone who already congratulated and who will do so in future. I also wish that everyone who is on the forum gets their PERs soon and there are no gaps left in the end. I think sept 7 applicants will get their PER soon but i am more worried about those who applied in july-august. I think it depends upon how complex the application is?

well, what next now? Is anybody able to ckeck their status or heard from their respective VOs?

Again thanks to everyone on the forum who are doing a great job.

My take on this is that, the complexity of the applications should not play a big role in the ER @ CIO as they are just going to calculate the points and check the proof of funds, along with checking the minimal employment requirements like job duties etc.,

The complexity like countries visited, lived in etc.., will come into play only when the file is into the background checks and security checks.

It looks more like the PERs are coming in at a more random way, if not by the date of encashment(these dates mostly differ from what we get from the bank).

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

I thought so too. But certainly not going to complain if it was done as part of PER.. ;D ;D ;D ;D. Cheers

Yes, definitely they calculate the points and check for the proof of funds during the ER @ CIO. That's the reason we think the application is 70% through PR, once it has a PER.

Thanks,

Indira Prabhakaran.

Clever, I never thought of doing that. Instead I did an almost daily followup inquiry on the branch where I purchased my DD. I talked to them nicely and eventually got a response.

Hi Carl128.... actually I did tried to call the bank several times, emailing them thru their website was a result of a confusion coz the one i've been calling told me last Dec 1, 2010 that my DD was still outstanding, meaning: uncashed :o ..... since I got worried sick, I emailed them....a week after they informed me that it was already encashed last October 7, 2010....... so i think, the email would have been a more reliable source than somebody from the branch...... btw, please update my status.... encashment of DD: October 7, 2010.....

Just a thought :-[ ..... would an encashment of DD could also mean receiving a PER?.....

in addition, if BD is not encashed then does that mean you will be receiving a NER?
