It was in an interview I read with The Minister of Immigration, Jason Kenney. Apparently immigrants who came to Canada in the 80s and 90s got good jobs and did not suffer as much as immigrants who settled in Canada the past decade.

Minister Kenney hopes to enact policies to make it easier for immigrants to obtain employment when entering the workforce. To accomplish this he said, we need to have stricter levels for their English language fluency and education level in general, so that they can compete in Canada's workforce. A stricter point system was also mentioned as one of the tools being considered to bring in the best and the brightest into Canada.

I did not see it in CIC news. I read all the news about Jason Kenney. I hope not. It is hard to get 67 points, what more if they increase it.

I just cannot understand what kind of ppl these courier people are. They are just sitting aside, shrugging off in a very inconsiderate manner. It seems that they don't even think of the extent of the blow they have delivered to me. They haven't even offered a simple apology for recklessly losing such a vital package. They justify their irresponsibilty as a mishap and bellittle it as if nothing much has happened. They are rude enough to say that under the rules and regulations, there is no insurance existent for documents but they are so generous that are ready to send the replacement package for me FREE OF CHARGE!!! What a generosity and deep understanding!! They literally put me on the verge of a breakdown. :'( The way they act feels appalling to me. And as for CIO agents, the too seem to be living in Mars and not knowing of what the realities are on the ground. They advise me to wait for +2 months just to know if my package is or is not in their possession.

Salam. Sorry to hear your case brother.Just want to know somehting, How do you know it has been lost? You sent you application on Dec. 1st right? well I understand from tracker you could not see final delivery so you are assuming it is lost. But it's only about 20 days orso.I hope your money order may cash soon if they received your application. You will not have to wait 2 months to know it is there or not.I just hope and pray that your money order will be cashed soon.

As I mentioned in the original post, I don't have a URL, it is something I read a few weeks ago. There is nothing definitive about what I read, it just said they were considering that. Who knows maybe they don't implement it next year at all. I would not worry about it, unless we see more and more articles coming out mentioning it.

Hi Katy. I spoke with a friend of mine in the courier industry, and was told that one of the reason for packages to go missing and then re-appearing is that they get held by Customs - especially when they are bulky, addressed to Government agencies, and originating from "listed" countries. I am not too sure of the authencity of the article in this weblink - http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig/young6.html - but it does suggest that it may be something that you should not rule out. Hope yours will reappear too..Best of luck!

Except of course that many applicants included their PCC with their application, so would not expect to receive a PCC request from VO unless the 12 months of the PCC expired before a final decision was made.

So do they receive nothing from VO until medicals? Or at least confirmation that their paper record has safely arrived at VO?

Yes, Wayne, as per a email reply from a VO that we had circulated last week, the VO would contact the applicants once they receive the physical file and start to process them.
