If i were in your shoes, i would start collecting them right away. Even if you'll have no contact from your VO requesting them let's say till March, your PC will still be valid (If it will take 2 months, you'll get it may be by the end of February and will be valid till May).
So I'd prefer to start collecting them so as not to delay your visa without need.

Good luck :)

Yes, Canady is right. It should not take more than 5 months for VO to contact us. So if you apply now +12 weeks will be end of February. And it will be valid until May. I already have one FBI clearance from 2 months ago. But I re-applied yesterday again.

Americas
Visa Office Processing Times IN MONTHS
(based on a complete application package)
Applications received BEFORE February 27, 2008 Applications received BETWEEN November 28, 2008 and June 25, 2010
Bogota - Colombia 53 10
Buenos Aires - Argentina 33 -
Buffalo – United States 41 17
Caracas - Venezuela 44 9
Guatemala City - Guatemala 32 13
Havana - Cuba 36 10
Kingston – Jamaica 40 14
Lima - Peru 36 10
Mexico City - Mexico 39 12
Port-au-Prince - Haiti 50 -
Port of Spain - Trinidad and Tobago 51 14
Santiago - Chile - -
Sao Paulo - Brazil 33 11

The date reflects the time from initial application to the final decision.

According to this processing time, it takes us another 12 months to get the final decision. Looking at the good side, its better than 41 months it took pre 2008 applicants to get the decision. But the numbers are ridiculous. I hope I will get mine before I get old.

Hi cforcanada:

No, according to those numbers it takes 17 months from the time your application gets to Buffalo! :o
... and I am already old... :(

Cam

17 months--- is this is the time after the application reached the VO

Or

Is this the total time taken- CIO+VO ??

Thoughts??

Hi Avi:

It is the application processing time for "Pre June 26" applicants, post June 26 processing time is not known... Yes, it is 17 months for processing at Buffalo... has nothing to do with CIO ???

Hahaha that was funny Cam. I read in some forum/website that the post June 26th application are framed to processed within 8-12 months. If that is true than I hope it will take us another 5-7 months in Visa Office. Lets keep the fingers crossed.

Hi, can I join the BOMED contest? My guess is Febuary 14, 2011 will be the first medical request.

its funny, Ive got a neg just for congratulating. :P

I have to admit sth :-[. All this time I couldn't find my tracking slip from when I originally submitted the application to CIO, so I estimated the arrival to be August 30.

Anyway, I found the paper with the tracking number today (jajajaja) and it looks like the whole package was stuck for a while in customs, as the actual date of receipt is September 7.

??? ??? ???

Could you please update my spreadsheet row?

With that, we are through August, and on to September PERs :D.

Hi Rina: Glad you were able to find your tracking slip. Whoever thought they would be "relieved" to know they were a week LATER! LOL Am sure your email will be PEROCESSED soon.

Cam: re the article...sadly these extra bodies are brought in to deal with CITIZENSHIP not immigration files. I don't expect we will see changes on this Forum, but good luck for those already through some time ago who can't wait to vote in the next election!
